"Trump acted that way at the debate because he was debating a woman."

Actually, I thought Hillary was disadvantaged because she couldn’t say this: “My dick is bigger than yours, go ask your wife.” If I were debating him, or any other man were debating him, that’s all you’d need to say to get Trumpy Wumpy angry.

That’s the level of this “debate” against an orange buffoon. He CAN’T debate. He can only name call and make up stories as he goes.

Trump has never in this entire adult life had to sit quietly and respectfully and listen to someone. Should not be surprising that he was unable to do so at the debate. Look for the next one to be even worse.

Trump acted

No, Trump wasn’t acting. That was the real Trump.
Expect nothing to change.

The second debate will be “Town Hall” style, so they’ll be answering some questions directly from the audience.
That’ll be interesting for both of them.

Oops. I just realized I didn’t link my source.

It was the first thing that popped up last night when I was googling, so I just went through their list.

I don’t really know if Trump acted in a sexist manner toward Clinton (though I think so), but it’s very clear that he’s belittled women he doesn’t like, insulted them with sexist terms, made comments about their bodies, suggested a woman being harassed at work just get a new job, suggested a woman who treated him fairly in a debate (in other words, not falling all over him) was “bleeding out of her whatever”, etc. There’s decades of material about that, and much during his campaign. It’s only because his poll numbers have fallen so far for a while that he’s throttled back his worst instances.

Yep, he keeps doing this because it has worked for him so far – part of the problem was that in this format, he had to have something else to bring to bear when after about the first 25 minutes the opponent was still not cowed or tipped off balance (in that sense Hillary probably has an advantage in that by now she might be impervious to “alpha male” dominance displays) and he seemingly could not and missed what should have been easy chances to score (e.g. the ramble on “cyber” w/o hitting back hard on the e-mails). He probably *does *sincerely feel he was hobbled by not being able to bring out the belittling and derision and direct attacks on character.

I read that as Trump trying to show off that he can be respectful to women.

Of course, he blew it, because he can’t.

I really really hope that Trump doesn’t win. But if he does I might rather enjoy the spectacle of him meeting the Queen.

Hillary shoulda said something about her hands being bigger than Trump’s.

Well, we know her dick is.

“Hiya, Queen!”

“Nice palace but you should see my place. Now that’s real class.”

The way he drew out “Secretary” sounded to me like he was devaluing her not as Secretary of State but as one of the secretaries he’s more familiar with, the ones who bring coffee and take shorthand.

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t think of Mrs. Clinton that way.

“Liz, great palace you have here. Fantastic castle, wonderful castle, a bit old, you know, it’s, it’s old, maybe needs some work, but I love it, love this castle, we’re building a property here in London, it’s the best property, the best, I’ve got the best property In London, and it’s going to be fantastic. It’s, you know, like my golf course in Scotland, the best, that’s in England too, and you’d love it, because it’s a fantastic property.”

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t think of her as a woman.

He certainly was when he was referring to Carly Fiorina’s face.

One review I read claimed that when Hillary addressed him as “Donald”, he appeared to take offense. (The exchange occurs starting at 4:10 here. He responds by looking at her with a sneering strained squint, which made a few in the audience laugh.)

The review claimed further that the whole “Secretary Clinton/Is that OK/I want you to be happy” snark later in the debate was in response to that offense.

Trump said about Clinton, “She doesn’t have the look. She doesn’t have the stamina. . .”

I disagree.

It’s clear that in his simpleminded thinking, a woman’s sole value is her sex appeal, and he considers himself to be the best judge of that. Why do you think he comments so creepily on his daughter’s attractiveness to himself? In his mind, there is no higher compliment than, “I’d hit that.” Inversely, there is no greater insult to a woman than, “Mr. Trump does not find you attractive.”

At this point it has been pounded into his skull that if he insults a female opponent’s looks, he’s going to alienate voters. He tried to weasel around his own team’s prohibition with his threats to comment on Bill’s infidelities. Why do you think he would try to “hit back” using that particular topic? Because in his cretinous brain, the most scathing retort is to imply that she is not attractive even to her husband.
