It’s extremely eager to grift MAGA. The whole movement is basically defined by people who are easily grifted. All my life ethics / non-harm principles have been far too strong for me to ever consider scamming someone, but I don’t know, the ethics of scamming people who are only scammed because they want to harm others don’t seem so bad. And it seems so easy, they’re practically begging to get scammed at all times.
To a degree, we are who we pretend to be, at least inasmuch as others would describe our character. A troll pretending to be an asshole is still an asshole.
For instance, there’s a MAGA merch stand outside a gun shop I drive by once a month or so, and I half wondered if they were just grifting. Plus, up until recently all the merch was just generic “Go Trump!” stuff, so if you want to make money like that, it’s not a bad way to go.
But the last time I drove by their stand, they were selling an “I have good genes!” shirt, which is too far for me. I no longer consider them just businesspeople. Same goes for the rhetoric one would use to get donations from Kirk fans.
Either begging to get scammed, or in it to scam. People who have either bought the Big Lie over the 2020 election or people who know it’s a lie and are supporting a fascist knowing he’s a fascist and imagining that they’ll be on top of the oppression pyramid.
MAGA all think they are wolves, making it that much easier for the actual wolves in MAGA to convince the sheep they can be in on the feast too if they arrive pre-sheered and with just a touch of salt.
