Trump as actual motherfucking president

Judging from the many Trump stickers I see on large pickup trucks I’m going to say most Trump supporters are dog people. And not 15-pound frou-frou dogs either.

Him punting a kitten would become a rallying meme for the Real Men wing of the Rs for a decade or more. If they split the party they might even adopt a hapless flying kitten as their logo *a la *the current donkey and elephant.
Picking on the small and helpless. It’s what Real Men do.

Actually many of his followers do care about being against the German ruler that demonstrated more humanity for refugees.

Finding that Trump is now praising Merkel is not big for most, but for the anti-immigration wing that is a clear sign of how Trump is conning them.

As I pointed before in a different thread, Trump is like the guy in the bear joke that has no running shoes. Hillary just needs to be a bit faster than him and so it is for the election. While most are indeed not caring, the ones that do care are the ones that will tip the election.

And again, we are already outside the Republican sandbox. While Trump is succeeding a lot in there, there is a whole playground outside that sandbox that is not being amused by Trump.

Well said. This is from a middle age guy that drives SUV’s and has a pickup. Trump is clearly an asshole. He only cares about himself.

From everything I’ve seen so far, it certainly is what Trump does. He really is a bully.

A thousand different ways; for one, I’d have long ago started angering my base against me. Trump fires his base up quite effectively.

It would be trivial to lose, but the most obvious is just to announce you are withdrawing from the race. If that’s too obvious, just go against whatever things your base is voting for you about. For Trump, go pro-choice, pro-LGBT, talk about how awesome Clinton is, say that all the out-of-work people deserve it. Go back to attacking the military.

Or just faint in public and act like you can’t remember things anymore. Clearly health is a big deal to people. And maybe say you’re really a woman.

The weird thing is that some of the stuff he does - you would expect that to anger his base. Like attacking a gold star family, and saying that your success is a sacrifice like theirs. Or saying that he never asks God for forgiveness, because he doesn’t do anything to merit forgiveness.

I would expect his base to bristle at least some of what he says. But they just don’t.

I think it’s because they don’t actually care about those things. They’re all excuses. What they actually care about is their various hatreds for foreigners and homosexuals, women and Muslims, liberals and Democrats, and anyone who isn’t exactly like them.

I recall reading an article quoting a fairly depressed sounding evangelical leader comment that Trump’s popularity pretty much showed that a lot of his True Believers, weren’t. Because if they really believed they wouldn’t follow Trump in the first place. And he had a point.

How many times have we seen him deny that he said something, even when confronted with video? Most recently, he said he didn’t say not paying taxes made him smart. We saw it. Doesn’t matter. That’s not what he said. Or maybe what he meant. or the mic was just fucking with us.

The problem with that is that it’s only one small nit of a shit-ton of nits you made after that first one. I just focused on one. If I were to address the other things you said, and then you say it’s not important to your “overall point”, like you did with this, what does that make your overall point then?

Follow me?

Because my overall point I was trying to make is you seem to do this with every issue you talk about. You assign motives and objectives to things that don’t relate to your “overall point”.

It’s bizarre.

No because you sound like an idiot in a sorry attempt to bury the fact that even you did accept that Arpaio was an incompetent by mismanaging the thing and also ending up adding to the money lost by the state.

Of course because the overall point is that Trump is following this incompetent and the damage it did and does for a state… well I’m willing to follow your point because as I said the option was no better when one wonders why is that Trump decided to join the racial profiler. When we follow the idea that what Arpaio did was mismanagement it also follows that Trump has no good eyesight or foresight when choosing friends and personnel.

One big reason why not to vote for Trump is because with his close association with Arpaio Trump shows that he is going to make even more and bigger mistakes and mismanagements of the federal organizations just as Arpaio did for the state one he controls.

Not bizarre as your clear attempt at not talking about Trump, who is the object of this thread. Of course if it is very clear that Trump is palling with people that are horrible managers, you only show that you will not deal with that. Better to go back into a nit that still makes Arpaio and Trump look bad huh?

Fine with me, but not the focus of this.

I did?

No way!

I don’t know why I’m so surprised by Donald Trump’s success. It isn’t as if I were under the illusion that the U.S. is filled with smart, thoughtful people. But I guess I didn’t think it was quite this bad.

I can only hope that this will mobilize the more moderate, rational, and above all sane members of the electorate to get out and vote. What is it, 50% or so of eligible voters that vote in an average presidential election?

Honestly, with that kind of voter participation, do we deserve any better than Trump?

That said, I’m calling on my Spirit Guides and reading entrails in the hopes that it won’t fucking happen.

True. But I was thinking more like full out acting like he has dementia. Not just conveniently “forgetting” stuff that’s inconvenient.

Because those people aren’t his base. They’re the ones that he’s deliberately leaving behind, and telling them they have to run to catch up.

His base is the alt-right and whatever the term is for the conservative working poor. The evangelicals are along for the ride.

And people did bristle at the military stuff .But he stopped with that, so they convince themselves it doesn’t matter.

In what way, I haven’t heard him say anything that would indicate that he would do anything to affect those groups. maybe I missed it.

An unfriendly SCOTUS could harm gay and transgender people.
