Apparently you’ve signed up to believe every conceivable anti-Trump allegation, so you assume everyone else shares that same type of mentality. But I view all these things independently. I’ve not mentioned anything about these Russian sanctions allegations here, and there’s nothing I’ve said which is logically connected to that issue.
Now that you do ask, there are any number of possibilities. Possibly - as the Trump people are claiming - the State Department is having difficulties implementing a certifying process. Or possibly, Trump is dragging his feet on implementing a law he never liked to begin with (ala Obama’s approach to things). Or possibly Trump knows that if he dares implement these sanctions Putin will finally release those “golden shower” videos. Maybe even the hitherto unreported “brown ice cream cone” videos. The possibilities are endless. Let your imagination run wild.
As for me, I’m not taking any position on that issue. If I say anything which has any logical implications as to it, feel free to point that out.
Of possible interest to some people, CNN is reporting that both John Podesta and Debbie W-S denied to congress that they had any knowledge of who funded the GPS research. Possibly significant because lying to Congress is against the law.
They may both have some deniability because the Clinton campaign and DNC didn’t pay Fusion directly; the payments went through a law firm. However, others have suggested that it would be unusual if the campaign and DNC paid that level of payments ($9M IIRC) without knowing where it was going. If I had to bet, I would say they probably did not know, though. This, based on the risk/reward ratio in lying to Congress about it. But - like everything else connected to this matter - hey we gotta look into this …
You are quite correct, and I am positive the Dems would just love a Congressional investigation into this, for what does John Podesta and Debbie W-S matter when we can get Donald Trump and obfuscate, delay, and sabotage the Republican agenda with yet MORE daily “Trump-Russia”-oriented stories, all while pissing off the man-child you so love to defend.
Yeah, we’ll make that trade any day and twice on Sunday. Go ahead, investigate. PLEASE.
If anybody broke the law, it should be discovered and those people should be held accountable, regardless of which party they belong to.
That said, the original reporting on the DNC/HRC campaign funding the dossier - it was said that the lawyer doing the funding had kept what he was doing to himself. If he’s telling the truth, than Podesta and DWS likely are as well. However, if they lied to Congress then yes, hold them accountable.
“Congress is investigating why the Dems paid for information about the President’s ties to Russia and their interference in the 2016 campaign” is a lede I wouldn’t mind hearing, to tell the truth.
So you’ve abandoned your “verifiably false” claim about Cohen’s alleged meeting, then? Because it’s looking solidly in the “unverified” column right now.
While at the same time, colluding with Russia to renounce Bill Browder’s* US visa on the exact same day which Russia filed for an Interpol warrant for his arrest.
After pressure, 1 day later Browder’s visa was reinstated, and the warrant was blocked by Interpol itself earlier today.

Well, the State Department just got rid of their sanctions office. All the sanctions work at State is now being given to one single guy. I think we can rule out the State Department “having difficulties” carrying out sanctions in favor of “don’t fucking want to.”
There is no ‘there’ there with regard to Hillary Clinton. Whether we’re talking about the uranium deal that required the approval of multiple agencies or supposedly paying for the golden shower dossier, this is just part of an ongoing attempt by an authoritarian regime to use distraction to its advantage.
Trump is now actively politicizing and manipulating the Justice Department, another tool in the authoritarian toolbox.
The Republican congress that is supposed to check the President’s power sees nothing wrong with Trump’s authoritarianism - probably because they, too, have longed for such authoritarian power.
In fact, it’s becoming increasingly doubtful as to whether the next election in 2018 will be a valid one. Consider news today of Georgia’s Secretary of State wiping voter data as a response to a lawsuit.
The United States is in danger of becoming an authoritarian state. We see a pattern of conservative projections in which they claim that Democratic politicians are trying to abuse state power and in the process using that supposition to underlay their own attempts to respond in kind.
I’ve got bad news for everyone: Mueller’s investigation may reveal a lot, but it will mean nothing because the party in power - not just the president but the entire party - lives in imagination-land and seeks to replace objective truth with their own version of reality. And history shows, they have a good chance of succeeding.
You are confused about something. I’m not completely certain what you’re confused about, because your post is vague as to what you’re calling out as a contradiction.
But my best guess is that what’s giving you a hard time is distinguishing between one user name and another. Because I’ve not ever said Cohen’s alleged meeting was “verifiably false”. That was another guy, who goes by the name of “Sage Rat”. Very different than “Fotheringay-Phipps”, and not a sock either.
In general, I’ve not said anything inconsistent with anything else. If you think otherwise, try to be specific as to what exactly you think is inconsistent when purporting to point it out.
If it wasn’t for the hippies making everybody smoke mariwanna, it never would have happened! Trump lies his ass off and gets away with it, sales of Doritos sky-rocket. Coincidence? Maybe…
The Washington Free Beacon, founded by one of Marco Rubio’s big supporters, was the outfit that funded the GOP portions of the FusionGP oppo research. Bill Kristol is involved as well.
