This may be best suited for another thread, but my assumption was that a good share of Trump’s strongest supporters were likely to be - uh - not exactly friends of Russia. Because I’m wondering whether these apparent contacts will ever affect their support (or whether ANYTHING will.)

Or do they respect Putin as a strongman who gets things done?

Sanders declined to answer questions about the emails, which suggested Trump Jr. accepted a meeting with a Kremlin-linked attorney who he believed possessed “sensitive” information about Hillary Clinton.

Thank you for this OPINION piece. I knew it was an OPINION piece because that’s what it says at the beginning; “OPINION”.

I did have a laugh at the part that said: “As the Times stories about Donald Trump Jr. emerged, Trump Jr. and those involved opted for transparency every step of the way”

Seriously. It said that. With a straight face, I presume. I’m sure you have followed how Trump Jr.'s story has changed each day, as more details have come out. Transparency? Right. “Transparency” is the talking point of the hour, straight out of
Trump’s press room.
I then enjoyed the author’s OPINION on the nefarious deeds of the Clintons; Bill gave a speech once in Russia, for which he was paid. Hillary gave approval for a sale of 20% Uranium to Russia. (A false claim, by the way. A lie.)

But yeh, transparency? Not so much when the NYT was going to release them anyway. Old, lame, ‘save face’ tactic to release your own incriminating evidence before the press does. Sure, tell/show the truth after you’ve lied numerous times, and it’s inevitable it’ll come out no matter what you do. It’s just another lie in its own way.
