That has nothing to do with it. Frame rate is different than shutter speed. You’ll get as many frames per second (with any press camera I could think of) at 1/250 sec as 1/2000 sec. You don’t get 4000 fps because you’re shooting 1/4000 sec. (Sorry, I don’t want to get too far afield here, but I explained above to a relevant question why such a shutter speed should be used, and it doesn’t have to do with taking lots of photos.)

According to the NY Post, he shot from 150 yards away – not 300. That raises my eyebrows higher. Where the hell are the Secret Service recruiting their agents these days – McDonald’s??

There was undoubtedly a failure on the part of the Secret Service. I think it’ll be a while before we find out exactly what the root cause was, but understaffing isn’t totally implausible. Maybe they’d have covered that other building if they had more people.
It doesn’t need to be SS Agents. They needed anyone at all from law enforcement on the top of each building.
I’ve seen this claim a couple places now, and I’m satisfied that NBC News is reputable enough:
Pennsylvania voter records listed a Thomas Matthew Crooks with the same address and birth date as a registered Republican, though it was not clear from the records when that was put in place.
Not that I think that makes it a false flag (because as others have already noted, there is no way you can reliably just graze someone with a bullet, especially not a bloviating, gesticulating fascist), but fingers crossed it turns out to be one looney Republican turning on another looney Republican. Not that the looniest will believe it, but, well… they were already the looniest anyway, so who cares what they believe?

I am worried about the retaliation that is now being formulated by the looniest of the loony.
I’m seeing that Crooks’ father might also be named Thomas Crooks, so it’s possible the donation was from dad and not son.
Such a minimal amount, and on the day Biden took office no less, is very odd, though. Crooks the shooter would’ve been 16 - are minors allowed to make political donations?

Also, I don’t think it’d be that weird to flip political affiliation. I was a devout Republican when I was 16. I was a full-fledged liberal when I was 20.
Or even just registering as your parent’s party independent of one own political persuasion. People aren’t fully independent at that age.
