The latest I’m seeing is he registered on or around his 18th birthday in September 2021 and last voted in the 2022 general election, which would imply he sat out this year’s primary. Interesting.
Voter registration doesn’t convince me either way. My sister, definitely a lefty, is registered Republican just to fuck with the Republican primaries.
Trump biographer Seth Abramson stresses that FBI agents need to keep an open mind when searching the home of a suspected Republican assassin of former President Trump.
Abramson notes there was far-right discussion among Trump’s AZ delegates to choose someone other that Trump for the presidency, due to concerns that Trump was too close to deep state operatives. Sheesh this is like a bad airport novel. Gifted article:

Sounds like a preponderance of evidence to me.
Fair enough. I was just commenting on the registration itself.
Btw, I’ve seen a few episodes from said channel. It’s not very political. Though it IS mostly just dumbasses going “dur dur guns blow stuff up, dur dur.” There’s a couple gun channels I enjoy, but that’s not one of them. Of course, I would not be surprised in the slightest if they were in fact right-wing. But they never mentioned it in those few episodes I saw.
I think I may have seen a few myself when I was looking up very large guns just out of curiosity.
Just from looking at their video titles they’re definitely of the “blue lives matter” persuasion.
The FBI has identified the shooter in the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Pennsylvania, a registered Republican voter who looks like an unemployed gamer who lives in his mums basement and who’s diet consisted of coco pops and cheetos.
Actually what November 1963 through 1968 felt like.

That was much too close last night. The US lost a candidate (Robert Kennedy) prior to the Convention in 1968. The chaos and violence outside the Democratic Convention in Chicago can still be seen on old clips on YouTube.
I think it would have been worse next week. The Republicans don’t have a strong candidate that can step in at the last moment.
I can’t stand Trump. But am thankful our electoral process can work as it should. Voters have to decide elections. Even when the candidate is morally corrupt and not worthy of holding office.
Any word yet on the rally attendee who died?
The shooter was aiming upwards towards the stage and lectern.
The Secret Service was firing up at the shooter on a roof.
How did someone standing below in the crowd get hit? Was he on the stage near Trump? That needs investigation. Terrible tragedy for someone to die like that.
I haven’t read any details. But a bystander did get shot and died
I assume you mean that he sat out this year’s presidential primary election, which was 4/23 in PA. Considering that less than a million people voted in that election, that’s not really all that surprising. 3.3 million voters voted for Trump in 2020.
Two people dead-two critically wounded (not Trump).
So, not ketchup.
Here’s a long thread on Twitter by a former LEO with presidential protection experience who talks about where the breakdown might have happened.
He describes the Secret Service as being responsible for near protection, that is right by the president, and very far protection, snipers on the roof looking for long distance threats.
General protection within the range of the crowd and local grounds he describes as the responsibility of local law-enforcement. In his estimation that would include the very close building where the sniper was.
I’m sure plenty of blame is about to be passed around, but an interesting perspective.
This video I saw a few days ago came to mind. One reason Trump is holding outdoor rallies in the summer heat may be that the campaign finds them cheaper and/or some cities/venue owners don’t want to get stuck with the bill from a rally and won’t host them.
You won’t get a long-distance shooter outside the security zone in an indoor facility.
Cities Consider Suing Trump For Never Paying Fees From His Rallies From Years Ago

There are at least 12 American cities that have been begging Donald Trump for the past 4 years (or longer) to pay his bills from hosting rallies, but neither Trump nor his campaign are cutting checks. Some of these cities - owed more than $100,000 - are now saying that they are considering suing the former President to get the money that he owes them back. They have a solid legal claim if they want to go that route, as Farron Cousins explains.
Actual political violence is very rare. Assassinations and assassination attempts are almost always from just plain crazy folks, and it’s a fool’s errand to try to classify crazy. Maybe the shooter thought that Trump was the Antichrist, or maybe they thought he was Christ and it was necessary for him to be martyred to complete his apotheosis. Maybe they thought that the bullets would bounce off of him, proving that he was superhuman. Maybe they thought the lizard-people’s mind control rays were forcing them to do it. No, those explanations don’t make sense. They don’t make sense because they’re the motivations of a crazy person.
There is such a thing as genuinely political violence, but an incomprehensible crazy is the way to bet.
Have any accounts said how many shots were fired? That is, how many shots people heard?
