Trump bloody after shots fired at a Trump Rally: Jul 13, 2024

would a graze have a burn component to the injury? and shrapnel would not…

Which is exactly the point that @DesertDog is trying to make, and one with which I happen to agree.

It’s hard to escape the impression (whether it will ultimately be borne out by investigation remains to be seen) that this was not just a “stuff happens” but a failure of basic competency.

I really don’t understand this fixation on whether or not the bullet actually hit his ear. I think it did, because we can’t see any shrapnel in any of the photos and we see a bullet literally whizzing by his head. I know there was some initial report that it was teleprompter glass, but that seems to be baseless as there’s no evidence any of the teleprompters exploded and if they had there’d have been glass everywhere.

The fact is that Trump escaped death by mere inches. He was unbelievably lucky. People behind him were hit and one of them died. Secret service tackled him and when he reached up to his head he felt blood streaming down. That’s trauma. He survived a mass shooting, he was the intended target, and it’s just dumb luck that he’s not dead. That would fuck most people up for years.

I get that people want to downplay this, or lump it into Trump’s pattern of lying about anything and everything. But whatever physical object actually hit his ear, when we know a bullet almost splattered his brains on the crowd, seems irrelevant.

Yeah, from Trump’s point of view, regardless of what the actual projectile was, the experience and psychological impact would have been basically the same. If he says he was shot in the ear, even if it turns out to be factually untrue, he’s not lying.

It’s important to get the facts of a shooting right. Especially this one.

I also think the bullet his his ear. I also think it was an assassination attempt and it doesn’t really matter how he was injured - he had 3 bullets fly very close (feet) from his head.

However, it’s like Trump is covering this reality up. It’s probably for vanity reasons (his medical records reveal he is overweight or something), but it’s a bit odd no legitimate medical record or person is explaining his injuries, and I’m pretty sure no one has been able to review them (e.g., the FBI). Unless I’ve completely missed it.

Trump appears to making something out of nothing so to speak.

I hate to double post, but will anyways.

I think it’s possible there is quibbling over what it means to be hit “with a bullet”. Most people would assume that means bullet out of gun hit his ear then kept going and stopped somewhere else.

However, you can, truthfully, say Trump was hit “with a bullet” [fragment]. The bullet left the gun, stopped, and then caused a fragment of the bullet hit Trump’s ear. Technically I guess that’s being hit by a bullet.

I’d call that being hit by a fragment, shrapnel, debris, etc.

That was my first thought. Squeaky Fromm getting within arm’s reach of Ford with an M1911 in a thigh holster came second. No shots were fired mainly because she did not have a round in the chamber.

Trump has defended the female Secret Service agent who helped defend him. Cynical me wonders how much of it is intended to take attention away from a (true) perception of the GOP being anti-woman.

Of course, she has to be “beautiful” to be worthy of praise.

“I’m starting the SSS-the Supermodel Secret Service.”

Love this part,

“She got criticised by the fake news because she wasn’t tall enough. She was so brave, she was shielding me with everything, she wanted to take a bullet,” the GOP leader further stated.

Following the attempt on Trump’s life, several prominent personalities, from Tesla boss Elon Musk to Daily Wire show host Matt Walsh, blasted the Secret Service and even voiced their opposition to hiring female agents.

The “fake news”??? You mean the people that support you? Right Donny?

Maybe he was talking about her inner beauty. That sounds likely. /s

Well at least models tend to be taller. If the sniper wasn’t neutralized he would have had ample chance to shoot Trump in the head because she was so short. All the other agents were close to the president’s height and were better able to block a sniper’s shot. There doesn’t appear to be any physical standards for agents.

Kind of surprising. But the problem could be remedied by a new uniform standard including headwear:

Or maybe Supermodel Schutzstaffel.

Mein leben!

the same way its been done nearly forever:

its god’s wish!

Director Rowe is testifying today. He said he’s ashamed and angry that no Secret Service were on that roof. It sounds like he’s going to roll someone and rightly so.
