Yup. I watched part of the hearing, and the man is coldly furious about what happened.
Many of the members of congress want heads to roll, they don’t care who. The acting director wants the proper heads to roll.
I read somewhere that there where SS agents in the building. Not sure, but you would think they would be situationally aware enough to at least check the roof like the local PD did.
Yeah, they sounded like they arrived with their script already set to keep asking why there hasn’t been a purge. In the end made Rowe look better IMO.
I did like the part where he reminded them that a candidate/former Prez is not the same thing as the sitting Prez.
I believe there was a local Swat sniper team in the building on the second floor behind the AGR building the shooter was on top of. The swat snipers were situated at a window that overlooked the crowd.

The swat snipers were on the second floor of the “taller” two-story building right behind it. Had the swat snipers leaned out the window and looked to their left, they would have seen the shooter laying on the building in front of them.
Basically and very generally, the local swat spotted the would-be shooter about an hour earlier on the ground being suspicious. Took his picture, had a group text amongst themselves about what was going on, alerted “command” of something, and had one swat guy leave the building to go track the would-be shooter on the ground. However, the Swat guy lost track of him and didn’t know he went on the roof. The shooter was not on the roof very long (from when he climbed up to when he died - but obviously long enough had they known). Swat never knew he ended up on the roof of the building until he was dead.

Late: I think this is a pretty objective overview of (part) of what happened. I’m not for or against any of it, just passing along the information.
I don’t see anything resembling planning and communication.
There should have been a clear delineation of responsibility, a central area of communication between all parties, and someone monitoring this process.
The water tower would have held a commanding view of the entire area and could have been fitted with cameras.
Repeatedly we keep seeing these different entities jealously guarding their respective authority – both the locals and the Secret Service. The Secret Service are not in a chain of command over local law enforcement, so they both need to be collaborative and the “unified command” needs to be both unified AND a real-time command. Not just a clearinghouse for texts.
I can only go by my experience which is limited. Out of the three presidential visits I took part in only one is at all comparable. I was privy to the radio commutations. The Secret Service was no doubt in charge of everything including those of us who were local and on the detail. They ordered us to do things that they noticed but were out of their perimeter. All of that was ironed out during their site visit the week before. I don’t know what the breakdown was here or the reason. I don’t know if the contingent was much smaller because it was a former president and candidate rather than a sitting president. I do know they what right looks like and it should be routine.
I was riding with an agent the entire time. He was not on the presidential detail. He told me anytime the president was in the New York area all the agents there would get pulled off whatever the were doing to help out. It was annoying for them because they had counterfeiting cases to work on and the president visited the area relatively frequently.
Following in the footsteps of Qaddafi…sounds about right.

At least one person thinks that the Chinese had a hand in the attempted assassination. I certainly don’t, but it’s obviously going to become another magnet for delusional people.
trump is giving a presser at mar a lago right now. i don’t see any damage to his ear. i have no clue as to why there was a big bandage on it.
It was already healed more than a week ago.
I think we have a good guess why there was such a big bandage on it.

If we think about the fact that Trump genuinely and sincerely believes that the larger the bandage, the larger other things are—and we reflect that he has millions of fans—then we can fully comprehend the fact that if 100 is the average U.S. IQ, that means that half of Americans have IQs under 100.

The shooter was a semi-local, not from Butler but Bethel Park, some 40 miles away. He was dead at that point, so Individual-ONE would not be wearing a pad on his ear for fear of that guy.
Is he part starfish? Can he regenerate body parts? Or was there some bigly exaggeration and lying going on earlier?
It was a clean shot that blew the former president’s right ear partially off, at least the upper part of it. The one who confirmed wwhat happened after the injury was Dr. Ronny Jackson , who was the White House physician under the Trump presidency.
Imma vote for lying.

Does it matter? He was shot at and was actively bleeding at the time. Yes a small scratch on an ear or scalp can bleed like hell. But a bullet still came millimeters away from blowing his brains out. He didn’t make that up.
^This. Not a fight we even want to get into, better to just let him have this one. Most people have actually forgotten about or don’t care about other this than his supporters. Don’t add fuel to this by pointing out the lack of damage, he was shot at and people died.
