Trump Deplorables go to prison for exercising their 1st Amend. rights

Bolding is mine.

Don’t be stupid.

I think “What does this have to do with Trump?” is a perfectly valid question. The incident did not happen last week; it happened in October of 2015. At that point Trump was formally campaigning for President but no primaries had taken place and Trump had support about Republicans ranging in the area of 20 percent. He was not the favourite to be nominated. Such attention as was focused on him was about two issues; the Great Wall of Mexico and a plan to “track” Muslims.

You would be hard pressed to convince me these assholes did this because some New York businessman who didn’t like Mexicans was running for President but would probably lose.

The OP doesn’t blame Trump for this. It simply refers to these people as Trump Deplorables, which is probably a reasonable guess.

The Third Amendment only mentions Soldiers… not Marines (or Sailors or Airmen).

With enemies like you, Trump’s success is assured.

Oh stop that. You are inserting sanity and facts into the SDMB Hate-a-thon. That isn’t good.

See, what you are supposed to do is pretend that anyone who does not agree with the SDMB groupthink is 100% is a racist/sexist/<insert horrible thing here> pig that does not deserve to live.

And anyone who agrees with the SDMB groupthink is a saint.

That way you can get your daily moral outrage in quick and easy, no thinking involved, and can go back to day dreaming about how perfect the world would be if Saint Clinton (she who can do no wrong) was Queen.

Really, you need to get with the program and stop noting inconvenient facts and actually analyzing events in a logical manner. Just go with the hate and all will be well.

Slee

Man, you sure did a number on those straw men! Those straw men are deader 'n dead! Well done!

What the fuck is wrong with you?

When the news hit Yahoo, I posted this comment directed at the whining, crying, lying woman who said, “That is not me. I’m sorry that happened to you.”

Anyone who says that they are celebrating culture with that damn rag is, in reality, telling a truth: they are celebrating the culture of slavery. If they are not celebrating slavery, then they are celebrating racism. One cannot legitimately sever the link between the rag and the racism it represents.

One more thing on the removal I referred to above: the rag was removed in a ceremony showing it the same honor accorded to the flag of the United States of America. It was a bit like watching the funeral of a fallen hero. That is all kinds of wrong. Might as well have run up a KKK hood in its place. THAT, my friends, is what those “deplorables” in this terroristic attack on a child were celebrating. Damn liars.

Its a bit hyperbolic but there is some truth to what he is saying. SDMB is turning into a liberal bubble. Has been for some time.

I blame the new version of “conservatism” which relies too heavily on bad arguments and bad information to gain converts.

It’s a turn off for many folks.

Bill Buckley jr would be a liberal by today’s standards.
…especially since he was rather opposed to the Ruskies.

Don’t you have something better to do, like go get your mullet trimmed?

With lapdogs like you, there’s also no way he can succeed.

It seems we are at an impasse.

It does seem odd to drag Trump into this. There’s more than enough to actually blame him for without fishing.

OTOH, fuck these racist assholes for threatening children with shotguns.

The only person I dragged into this was Steve Bannon. It was others (who must have went to the same alternative high schools as the convicted knuckleheads) who think this thread is about the President and started whining about it.

Given that the first word in the OP is Trump, it’s kind of hard not to draw the inference that some sort of association was being made here. I know. Call me crazy.

No, you’re just stupid in that you read only the first word of a two-page long thread.

Here’s the first full sentence of the OP: “Well, that’s how Steve Bannon might see it.”

If I start a thread about the Chicago Cubs, would you think the subject under discussion was the city or the baseball team? :dubious:

If you wrote “Cubs fans go to prison for exercising their 1st Amend. rights” I would assume you are tying the Cubs into it somehow, that it is somehow salient to the story, and it’s not just a word you picked for no reason.

The point obviously (but maybe not, since you missed it) wasn’t what the literal first word was; it’s that the name was drawn into the discussion immediately by the OP.
