I think another advantage Trump has is the way he talks about money in politics. Sanders has made that a centerpiece of his campaign, but he’s unwilling to talk about it how it really is. Sanders doesn’t want to blame the politicians, he wants to blame the donors, but it’s a two way street. Not all politicians take the money, which means that none of them really have to do so. The donors actually have less choice. Trump says he gives because he has to give to protect his interests. But when he does give, he owns these people. They come to his wedding when he says he wants them.
