Trump indicted

My prediction: as the reality of being arrested, processed, and arraigned sinks in, the orange psychopath will be driven to new levels of rhetoric despite his lawyers’ efforts to restrain him. Lack of imagination comes part and parcel with his stupidity, so he doesn’t fully understand anything until it’s rubbed right in his face. And I suspect there’s a good chance his hysterical ravings and threats will get him in even more trouble, unless the experience actually scares him into listening to his lawyers for once in his life.

da staff enters the court room.

I’m hoping the judge slaps him with a gag order.

Ah. I wasn’t aware of that part.

alvin bragg goes into the court room.

in other court news trump lost an appeal in dc. see jan 6 thread.

1972 actually, but that just shows how keenly he felt about it.

I have a question about the fact there are “over thirty charges”.

Many in the media (Economist, Atlantic) seem to be of the opinion it would be better to delay relatively unimportant charges and wait for weightier cases. But that’s not my question.

If there are a whole bunch of charges in an American case, can anything be inferred about the weakness or strength of the case? Is this sometimes done to look meatier or more impressive or disguise weak evidence or likelihood of prosecution? I read things like The National Review to try to get other perspectives, and they are certainly pushing that argument hard. Is there any merit to it? (I realize the incitement was sealed and might mainly be about extensive tax evasion or whatever).

shouting questions??! seriously??!

Trump heading into the courtroom.

2:28 PM, EDT.

Looks like he’s too busy shittin’ bricks to open his mouth.

Only the best bricks. Perfect bricks.

no cuffs.

still photogs coming out. should get pics soon.

Not sure if this answers your question directly, but sometimes the dozens of charges are just a lot of single acts of the same crime. For example, each check Trump wrote could be charged separately. If you write 10 checks, that’s 10 charges - but all for the same crime.

It’s helps to know how unique the charges/crimes are from each other. We’ll know that soon.

If I were a judge that would be a, “Yeah, so?” factor which is why I’m not a judge.

CNN reporting that electronic devices are not permitted in the courtroom. So, perhaps for the first time in years, Trump does not have his phone. No wonder he continues to look pissed.

Jon Stewart remarked about a similar statement, “Do we have a justice system or not?”

Seth Meyers joked about that as well.

the pics are in. i’m not sure what to call this look.

That sweet, sweet moment.

I thought it was notable that Trump stayed silent as he passed from the booking room to the courtroom. Maybe the gravity of the situation is sinking in. At least, a little.
