I’m starting to think that the whole russian collusion thing is just a distraction to his real masters, the Chinese.
Everything he has done has harmed the United State’s standing politically, economically, socially, and militarily.
Every time that we have stepped down, though, China has stepped up.
China may very well end up on top after the dust settles with this administration, and it’s gonna be a long climb back for us to regain our standing in the world.
Then your “point” at disparaging solar power jobs as they “depends on Chinese import dumping and shit labour standards” was indeed meaningless then, that figures. A lot of the reasons why China, and I may say the US too, had many coal jobs is/was because of shitty labour standards.
So let’s ignore that and concentrate on how even Republicans like McCain think that Trump is doing really the reverse of what he claims to do about protecting or increasing American jobs.
The average US coal job is ~50k/year. What do you figure the average Solar Panel maker in China gets.
But that’s neither here nor there. I did not for a second defend the coal industry so your lame little gotchya is utterly misplaced. Coal is not the only fossil fuel, solar is not the only renewable. If solar can’t grow without import dumps and Chinese labour, it matters not a whit if coal is also bad.
And I thought so, you are wrong anyhow, IIUC solar will grow although not as big as before, so yes, your point was more meaningless.
I also say that because what science will continue to report (about global warming and the need to stop using so much coal too) will not go away and a lot of efforts coming up worldwide will make coal to be less acceptable.
Maybe you need to try harder for this to get through your skull: I don’t give a crap about the health of the coal industry. And you are being so random, I hope you’ll forgive me if I don’t take your word on what is “meaningless” very seriously.
It’s not a matter of what a solar panel maker in china makes, it is what a solar installer in the US makes, as those are the jobs that are being lost due to this tariff.
From what I can see they average a little lower than coal workers. And we’re ignoring here American solar panel maker jobs lost due to Chinese dumping.
I would think that with higher prices on imported cells, the American producers would hire more guys to make more cells. Maybe the American producers are already going under and have no money for more employees or factories.
How large is the american solar panel maker industry? I don’t imagine it’s something that can be expanded at the drop of a hat. It’s not like the average joe can make them in his garage.
No, a company would have to hire guys to run another shift, or build another factory and hire guys. I don’t thing another shift would take long, but another factory would take time and money that they company might not have.
Regardless, we are getting moving off track. Obama imposed sanctions on Chinese solar panels. There’s currently a American launched WTO dispute over it. Trump campaigned on getting tough on China. There is zero reason to think this move is a distraction from Mueller or a “let’s kill solar!” move. It’s totally in line with standard American policy. Just done in a stupid flamboyant way.
I agree with you that collusion charges are unlikely. If they had been able to come up with anything substantive, in the leak-obsessed politicized culture of WDC, someone would have leaked a finding to score some political points, whether an AUSA or an SA’s Democrat wife. In this particular case, evidence of absence probably does reflect absence of evidence. Leaks are now the accepted tool for low-intensity political warfare, and if Mueller’s team had something, they would have fired it off.
It seems that Arizona Mike is not looking at what was already found (and there were almost no leaks until they came up with deals or arrested), the results so far include very, very bad apples that the investigation caused to be removed from the sorry administration of Trump.
IMHO I do think that Trump may not be having any serious accusations coming his way, but many among his staff will not be as lucky. As I have pointed many times before, the real objective is to remove as much of the corruption that has been noticed in an administration.
If Trump gets it, then that is gravy to me, but not likely the main course. But if he does not get it, then the evidence will likely point to a remaining sorry state of affairs in the White House. With Republicans in congress still impersonating the three monkeys. And a lot of people then realizing that if Trump does not go now that then it is the Republicans in congress the ones that need to go out first.
I’ll agree that it was probably a bad investment on Putin’s part. Because Trump is impervious. You can’t bribe someone with no capacity for gratitude and you can’t blackmail someone that has absolutely no shame.
But Putin’s really really rich and hecmay feel he’s gotten his money’s worth in entertainment value.
Thank you. That was exactly what I was thinking. I think that Mueller is allowing for much of the evidence to be collected before he shows his hand, that’s why he is giving any public responses to and leaks or inflammatory tweets from the President. He is in essence refusing to CONFIRM or DENY any and everything. The perfect look of a poker player - a BLANK face.
