Patx2, I’m not going to say you’re racist. I mean, what you’ve said sure sounds racist as hell, but I can’t rule out the possibility that you say you’re scared about all democratic politicians, regardless of race, creed, or color, everywhere.
But one thing I can say with confidence is that if you’ve observed the Trump presidency so far and have seen nothing that can be criticized, or if you’ve seen anything that looks like a success, then you are literally, completely, insane. Delusional. Hallucinatory.
I mean, you probably don’t even see the row of colored squares I put above this line! Seriously.
Seriously. Remember the night at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner, when he eviscerated Trump and was generally smiling and laughing the whole night?
Who would have guessed he had already ordered SEAL Team Six to go get Bin Laden and the mission was already in progress.
The point of the color boxes, I think, was to suggest that your preconceived notions may have been based on unfortunate biases within yourself that you aren’t aware of. Most of us have racist or otherwise bigoted feelings at some point in our lives, and very often we’re not aware that they’re racist or bigoted. Maybe you had some negative feelings about him due to race and you weren’t aware that was the source. It doesn’t mean anything more than that you’re human, but recognizing these kind of things can be important and useful to being a better person. At least, this is one possibility.
Sure, I’ll go with that. I have a sinus headache from hell right now and really can’t concentrate. The point is though, I agree with what you say, but no matter how many times I bang my head against a wall no one posting here is going to believe me when I say it had nothing to do with his race. Of course I’ve had biases in my life that I’ve been consciously or unconsciously aware of but it’s not the case here, again not worth repeating it, I will be unbelieved, considered a liar because how the hell could I possibly not agree with his policies or get a gut feeling from the very beginning that I didn’t think he would be the right choice for president without being a racist. Sometimes this board makes me sick to my stomach. Thanks for the input, I understand what you mean, but I’m done.
I’m in no position to say why you disliked Obama, but if it is truly an unconscious bias you wouldn’t know the source of it, either to confirm or deny.
I’m curious what you think of Obama’s policies that can be objectively measured. He took office during a severe economic downturn and ended with 75 consecutive months of job growth. You also mentioned the Iran nuclear deal. How close was Iran to building a nuclear weapon at the time? It’s two years later and I haven’t heard of them having or still working on one. It seems fair to me to say that the deal has worked, at least so far, and better than having done nothing.
It doesn’t help she associates herself with a party that’s upholding many tenets of racism. I get that not every republican is a racist, but why would anyone want to align themselves with such a deplorable party if you claim you’re not?
These fine patriots are currently on the march at the University of Virginia. They brought their Nazi salutes, shirts with Hitler quotes, chants of “blood and soil” and their guns with them.
Patx2, et al, need to understand these are the sort of people her party associates with, therefore it’s how you will be tainted by aligning with them. You can be indignant all you want, but it’s where your heart truly must be, no?
Trump is a morally bankrupt individual that thinks of only himself. Yet, the supposed moral and christian party backs him. They seem to adore him for being so morally bankrupt. I just can’t figure this out.
Of course, my opinion of those who are “christian” but hate gays, don’t want to help the poor, want to keep out immigrants, etc is not so great. It seems christianity = hypocrisy.
What would Jesus do? Well, if you are poor, gay or born in the wrong country, go fuck yourselves!
Well, nine years have passed since you told your husband that you couldn’t put your finger on why you felt that he wasn’t right for the country. Have you been able to put your finger on it yet?
Especially in light of the demonstrable, objective fact that you were wrong, and he WAS right for the country…
