What’s Ryan going to do if Trump does throw him under the bus? Raise taxes on the rich?
With regard to his first day in office: “I am going to ask Congress to send me a bill to repeal and replace, finally, Obamacare. It’s a disaster. Under Senate rules, that bill can be passed with 51 votes. 51! Meaning a Republican Congress and a Republican President can save Americans from this disaster in a single afternoon.” D. Trump
Trump peaked on his first day in office, from here on down, it’s up hill all the way.

Keep up the good work!
Fox news, god blessum, anything for a rightie fucking clown. Congratulations, Republicans. Well done. Dum Fucks. He’s YOUR guy.
“Loser” Donald Trump, who I hear is very overrated, failed bigly to make a deal on Obamacare. Worst ever! SAD!
Look, this is all part of the 9-dimensional chess game Trump is playing. He is still 6 moves ahead.
The guys at FARK are having a field day:
How Trump just failed to drive this thing:

Great work on this, jsgoddess.
I get it. I work in population analytics for healthcare. It’s freakin’ addictive.

Ooh. Be my friend.
The HHS Inspector General is investigating why they have stopped advertising Obamacare, even though it’s still the law.
From Vaporcare to world domination in only 10 moves!
Here’s the Democratic press conference after the bill was pulled: Politicians speak about the canceled health care vote - The New York Times It is nice to be reminded that there aren’t just stupid people there in Congress. (FYI, the question and answer part was, I thought, better than the speeches at the beginning.)
Lovely! …and mazel tov!
Well, I got a feeling that is one Inspector General who will be fired pretty soon.
Or fall out a fourth floor window of their apartment building.
No, you’re right. I’m glad it didn’t even get to a vote. What I meant was, for good or ill, they couldn’t even get their act together enough to vote on the damn thing. Here’s hoping we can get some of these Congresscritters out of office next November.
Why don’t we have single payer health care? Do we simply spend too much on ‘defense’ to afford equitable health care for every American?
No, if we take as evidence, say, every other country on earth, it would be cheaper than what we have now. Objections aren’t on cost reasons, they’re on “people we consider undesirable could get health care” reasons, and maybe a little bit of “we don’t want all the current middlemen to lose their jobs.”
The GOP finds the concept of healthcare for every person-regardless of economic status- to be absolutely horrifying.
No free market, no profits, no denying care to the unworthy. They haz a sad.
We can’t do that, if we had universal healthcare the poor might live longer. Besides, our government already funds two-thirds of US healthcare and spends more per capita than any universal healthcare system other than Switzerland.
