AG is, I think, the most important cabinet post to Trump. His priority is to jail his enemies. They know that blocking Gaetz is the betrayal he won’t forgive. So there is no harm in blocking other nominees. I hope.

Probably because he’s from Utah, and aspired to be elected to higher office. It’s extremely difficult to get elected the House or Senate from that state as a Democrat.
My guess would be that, even when he was a Democrat, he was to the right of most other Democrats.

You’re right–Bannon was about as clear as mud, or perhaps blood, in that citation*. But it was his most recent, and perhaps it’s fair to interpret it in the light of everything else he’s said (which is that Everyone Had Better Acknowledge Trump as Lord Or Else!)
As for whether the Senate will go in the direction ‘we’ve gotten rid of Gaetz and Trump is already mad so we may as well say what we really think of the others,’ or instead ‘we’ve gotten rid of Gaetz and that proves we’re a Co-Equal Branch, so now we can just knuckle-under on all Trump’s other picks’…well, I’d bet on the second one.
*I believe Steve Bannon is well-known for being, shall we say, chemically impaired a lot of the time. Lack of clarity isn’t surprising.

The cabinet is kind of irrelevant, because pretty much everything in the execute branch IS Trump. You can’t stop him. Senate technically could but by February we will see it is too late.
The problem of defining treason when Trump is president
I posted this a few places and nobody was willing to debate my idea. The concept that when we have a president who is out to destroy the administrative state, give his donors and backers billions in taxcuts, we can’t really label it treason. Even giving Putin data on Ukraine is not treason. Because in a sense THE PRESIDENT IS THE SAME AS THE COUNTRY. If the voters voted for him to do all this, he is doing his job.
So if the President one day decides to nuke Estonia just out of the blue, the voters wanted him to do it? Ignorance is no defense, if you really didn’t know what he was planning?
