Get used to it. Like it or not, we are the new “evil empire”; attacking independent nations unprovoked, threatening several others, attacking ships at sea, pirating oil, etc.
One might wonder if, in that case, the Cuban regime might ask for Russia to install some sort of weaponry, maybe even nuclear-equipped rockets. Unprecedented, I know, but…
How does the work? The United States can’t seem to decide whether we’re friends with Russia or enemies. Are we going to blockade the oil after lifting sanctions allowing Russia to make money off it’s sale? It’s so confusing.
Answer: It doesn’t work. Abandon all attempts to apply logic; it’s futile.
and threatening our erst-while ally (in Trump’s view) Canada for shipping oil to Cuba
Hardly.
Trump doesn’t know what his plan is until Putin tells him.
The way it works is that Trump admires Putin, while Putin has nothing but contempt for Trump. It’s like an abusive relationship. If either Trump or the violence-loving Hegseth interferes with that Russian oil tanker, then heaven help us all. This is not the Kennedy era – what we now have in charge of US policy and its military are incompetent misfits and neo-fascists all too eager to go to war.
