It’s racist to disapprove of interracial marriage, and it’s racist to believe it should be illegal. Now, private racist beliefs are different (and less harmful) than advocacy for racist laws, but they’re both racist beliefs.
However, I should have noted the difference in the polling question, and thank you for pointing that out.
Not everyone looks at the world through some race or class warfare lens. I look at the world through a suckers who trust the government and those who don’t warfare lens.
Turns out Sanders supporters did do it, although the Sanders campaign wasn’t behind it. This shouldn’t be too surprising, given that Sanders and Trump supporters overlap a bit.
I notice how you only talk about race and class warfare when people are noticing how certain rich people are benefiting unjustly, and how certain white people are racist shitheads.
Nice job trying to make this a pro-government/anti-government thing, by the way; that distraction has done yeoman work in the past, but I think you’ll find it falls a bit flat here.
The GOP: We Aren’t Racist Because… Hey, Look Over There! Socialism!
You aren’t making any sense. You are telling me what I think. How can I refute the “arguments” of one so arrogant? I said “rabble”. You turned that into race baiting. If you ever saw a left wing protest you’d see rabble doesn’t imply monolithic race. It’d imply jobless, smelly people who want more of what other people earn.
I know this is going back a little bit, but I disagree with this point.
It’s easy to say up until now that Trump has been regarded as a clown talking nonsense, but he’s been winning primaries. And 40% support is as close as anyone is likely to get to an endorsement in a divided field.
But now, with these clashes, I really think this is something that could hurt him. To what degree he’s culpable (which is a large degree IMO) is largely irrelevant: it’s a preview of what the country might start to look like under his leadership, and I think a lot of conservatives may recoil from that.
(And yeah I’m using somewhat guarded language because we’re already in unknown territory…)
It doesn’t suprise me one bit that Trump would rather have libel laws that looked like Britain’s so he could sue people that lied about him. This is yet another thing I disagree with him on.
Anyway…I don’t suppose you have heard Bernie ranting to his supporters about how the Koch brothers are too influential and promising to take care of them when he is president…
And of course his supporters are already organizing to try to shut down the political speech of their opponents…
