You knows that Jews sometimes convert to Christianity, right? Trumps daughter converted to Judaism. It happens. Evangelical preachers really, really, want it to happen, by definition.
Agreed. UK libel laws were reformed in 2013 to head off some of the worst injustices, but there’s still a long way to go.
No, he wants to sue people who write negative stories about him. That’s not remotely the same thing. Trump has a history of threatening malicious prosecution of anyone who says anything bad about him with the deliberate intent to suppress any criticism including legitimate criticism. He’s waving a big red flag here and you’re just shrugging and saying, “Well, everyone’s got a flag of some sort.”
And yet you’re carrying his water.
And Trump supporters are in turn trying to shut down the political speech of their opponents. By violence. With the open support of their candidate.
I seem to recall Trump supporters pushing Bernie out of the way and taking his mic for a protest. Wait. That wasn’t Trumo’s gang. That was the BLM crew. Where have Trump supporters invaded a rival’s campaign rally?
Well, I take back everything I said about Trump supporters invading a rival’s campaign rally…which is nothing. But thank you for the kneejerk “But…but look over there! It’s BLM!”
We have some people here who are total and complete experts on lefties, what they think, how they act, so on and so forth. Trouble is, I don’t think they actually know any. I’ve been solidly lefty since I was old enough to know what I wanted, and I know oodles of them.
If there were a Trump rally here in the People’s Republic of Baja Canada (AKA Minnesota), its entirely possible that the Central Committee for Political Action of the Anarcho-Syndicalist Revolutionary Cadre would issue a “Shut him down!” manifesto. I haven’t any doubt that all six of them would march in lockstep to demonstrate their solidarity with the proletariat.
There would also be a contingent of people there to demonstrate for their political opinion, which is that Il Douche is a blazing asshole who should not ever, never ever, be President. I kinda lean towards that camp.
So, anyway, if I got down to the Trump rally with my “Trump is a blazing pile of dog shit!” sign, that means I went there totally under the control and authority of the Central Committee for Political Action of the Anarcho-Syndicalist Revolutionary Cadre? That despite my stated intention to dis, degrade, and otherwise sneer upon Il Douche…I’m really there to shut down his free speech! And the proof of this is the aforementioned manifesto, which clearly demonstrates the central authority of their power.
Which proves, beyond doubt, that the vast majority of people shouting their disdain for Trump were there to shut down his free speech rights.
See, this is what happens when people try to determine the motives of people they don’t know. They get it wrong. Herding cats is easier than asserting control of lefties. Lot of us have “issues with authority” a prominent entry into our Permanent Record.
I totally support Trump’s free speech rights, he is doing our work for us, Goddess bless his heart and the butter than flows through his sclerotic veins. I want him to talk, loud, often, and openly! I also believe in my right to shout back, and wave my sign. (Carefully, 'cause when you got really big hands like I do, it can sometimes obscure the wording.)
BLM does not speak for me, neither does Bernie. Not even the “antifas”, though, shit, who the hell *isn’t *“anti-facist”? Now, that said, I don’t actually know how many “Bernshirts” were actually part of this, I don’t even know such a thing exists. So, I don’t know how many lefties were there to shut down Trump’s free speech, or how many were there just to say what an asshole he is.
Neither does Hank Beecher. But, I don’t claim to know. And he does.
Trump is like the Anti-Christ character of a book that Steven King had too much class to write.
Stolen! Mine! Everyone else back off!
Didn’t write? Trumpy is Randall Flagg from The Stand.
So… Trump is a Dean Koontz character?
Contrary to your musings, some of us are quite familiar with lefty-activists and their notable levels of intelligence, rationality, tolerance for dissent, work ethic, and hygiene.
According to antifa, anyone who doesn’t ascribe to whatever contradictory blend of Marxism and anarchism currently trending at the drum circle and within identity politics training departments at the local University.
But you claim to be so familiar with the scene, surely you know this too…
Trump is neither that smart nor that classy.
Perhaps, but you obviously are not one of that some.
A great many Trumpers. Perhaps not all them.
I looks like Trump going to be the GOP pick ! How the fuck did this happen !!! Do people really think he making America great right now by inciting
violent and fear of anyone that looks different ?
By way of the “mainstream,” “establishment” Pubs preparing the ground for it. As has been said on this Board, “You can’t spend 30 years dry-humping the crazy and then act surprised when the crazy wants to fuck.”
rofl oh boy you could not be more wrong.
I am intimately familiar with them. Other than the plentiful lefty-activist types in my social circle, I have interacted with mobs of them at Rainbow Gatherings, Grateful Dead shows, Occupy rallies, anti-KKK protests, and elsewhere.
I have been surrounded by self-appointed social justice warriors for as long as I can remember. In fact, I am actually a direct product of “the struggle” (back when it was intelligent and principled) that has devolved into the pathetic, regressive efforts we see today.
Nome Chomsky and Bob Dillon were ingredients in my mother’s milk.
Just yesterday a friend from that era was recounting how his printing business began. When local and regional presses refused to print anti-war materials in 1970, he and his partners pooled the money they had earned from cough “entrepreneurial activities” to buy a printing press from a foreclosed business. While having this conversation we were standing mere feet from the church where my parents arrived in a Black Panther filled funeral procession for a young kid that had been killed by police.
Noam Chomsky. Bob Dylan.
No, it’s Gnome Chomsky, he is just one of the rare ones who is tall enough to pass for a human.
LOL I thought Dillon looked wrong. Then I typed Dilon and that didn’t look right either, so I reverted the change.
Different people.
