It sells itself. Voters already decided that they don’t want Jeb or Rubio. If Trump has the most delegates and votes, but doesn’t get the nomination due to establishment machinations, the GOP will simply be self-administering a coup-de-grace. Trump has them down, is dominant, and is trying to complete the arm bar. If it works, the GOP will then have to tap out and submit to avoid mortal injury.

News Flash: Mexico is NOT Iran. There is regular postal service to Mexico. There are over 150 million legal border crossings every year. There are over 5 million truck crossings every year. There are thousands of large US businesses in Mexico. There is no way, no way on earth that transfers of money from people to Mexico could be stopped. So make all the “specific laws” you want. Ain’t gonna happen.

CarnalK, I get what you are saying. It reminds me of how people have been scoffing for years that it was logistically or financially possible to build a secure wall or fence on the Mexican border. I have never been paid in favor of building one, but I have found myself resistant to the notion that it is just unfeasible. Germany did it across their territory, and we have a much larger economy. It’s just a fence/wall, after all. Making Medicare and Social Security solvent for the rest of the century is the real challenge (one which Drumpf of course ducks).

Wrong. The GOP will survive no matter what Trump does. These are politicians we’re talking about here, well-schooled in figuring out and saying what people want to hear. Trump could quite definitely do damage to them, but he’s not quite the danger to them that you paint. The democratic system and the GOP might even benefit from the loss of the completely deluded core of Trump supporters. Let them go form their own splinter faction that will almost never have any effect on real government. But they won’t want to, because some say is better than no say at all.
