What gets me is the claim that “Stars of David are NEVER filled in” when ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS USES OF THE STAR OF DAVID AS A MARK OF RACISM WAS FILLED IN.
Yeah…that doesn’t look like a Star of David at all. The thing is…not a lot of stuff does.
The six pointed star isn’t exclusively jewish, it’s used by Hindus, Rastafarians and Mormans too. Maybe he was trying to compare her to one of those groups? Is that better? As we all know “money grubbing rastafarian” is a common trope. As is “crooked mormon” and who hasn’t said someone was “sneaky like a hindu” before? Sometimes it’s used by the Sheriff’s Department. Like in my hometown of Los Angeles, where we would say all the time “that person is corrupt like a sheriff”
Oh wait, no, none of those are things. You could replace all of those with JEW and it would work though. Yup. Crooked Jew, Sneaky Jew, Corrupt Jew, Money Grubbing Jew. Yeah, that just feels right.
My guess is that it probably means Jew.
Oh and
You sort of have to go out of your way to find a six pointed star.
I would characterize my initial confusion not as stemming from the star being filled in, but from the fact that the star didn’t have the two triangles outlined. The triangle outlines are visible in both the Israeli flag as well as on the stars I presume you allude to.
It’s fine if the star on this particular tweet immediately jumped out at you as being a Star of David. But this attempt to characterize it as some form of will blindness to not have seen it as such originally is bizarre and unproductive. The fact that one would choose not to see it as anti-semitic knowing the full context is willful ignorance; the initial failure to see anti-semitism in the tweet alone is not.
The most famous and ubiquitous yellow star was unlined in any way. It has been linked to 4 times in this thread by my count, once by me.
But you are right. It is entierly possible that someone who doesn’t have a lot of experience with Jews or Jewish people wouldn’t notice that. Someone like Donald Trump and his staff.
Looks outlined to me.
You think there was only one badge? Look again.
(incidentally, that’s the link that NAF1138 specifically mentioned. Five times now.)
Some were lined, some weren’t. Sometimes it wasn’t even a star.
I couldn’t tell you which was the most ubiquitous, but I mostly know the lined one with “Jude” in the middle.
The majority of those are outlined. While I was admittedly unaware that some of the badges were unlined (thanks for fighting ignorance there), I think this largely contradicts LEAPER and supports my point.
ETA: Actually, LEAPER didn’t make a claim about lining, only about them being filled in. Sorry for calling you out here incorrectly, LEAPER. I should have referred to NAF’s claim about the most ubiquitous one being unlined.
And related to Trump, it should not be surprising to find out that the closest star to the image made by the white supremacist was used in [del]V[/del]Bulgaria.
Exactly, we can’t expect everyone who, like Trump’s staff, goes searching through white supremacist websites for anti Hillary images, to know which ones are or are not bigoted, can we?
What is the significance of the crossed out V? I’m sure you’re implying something here, but I don’t know what.
It is a reference to our Short Fingered Vulgarian.
And now I expect Trump to send me pictures of him with gold sharpie circling his fingers claiming that he is not.
Maybe Trump was trying to communicate Hillary’s true feelings?
“Former Clinton consultant Dick Morris said that in a dispute over money, you said to him, “That’s all you people care about is money.” He took that to be a slap at him because he is a Jew.”

Yes, YOUR guess is that it probably means Jew and you do sort of have to go OUT OF YOUR WAY to find 6-pointed stars. Unless you search for 6-pointed stars.
This is simply politics. You wanted to see a Star of David, or someone told you it must be a SOD, and you saw one.
Post shortened.
Right. That’s actually my point. Thanks! If you search out six pointed stars you can find them. If you search “stars” it’s sort of hard to find a random clip art six pointed star. If you are specifically searching for six pointed stars it must be for a reason.
Good summation of my point. I’m glad you have come around to seeing that the original image was clearly intentionally racist and that Trump should own up to the mistake and apologize.
That’ll earn you a warning, Frank. You should know better than this.
Please don’t do it again.
Very well.
Although it would help if I knew exactly why I was warned.
Yeah, when I first saw it, I could have bought that it was just an extremely unfortunate mishap, especially since it was deleted within about 15 minutes. My first thought was actually that it was meant to look like one of those stickers that you put on something to draw attention to a fact, like “now with extra bran fiber!” or “reduced price!” or something like that, and the creator just didn’t select enough points.
Once it was revealed where it came from? There’s no way it wasn’t intentional.

For free ice cream? Is this a trick question?
You don’t believe your final line in that post is insulting? If not, then let me disabuse you: it is.
