If Trump and his chumps were in the middle of Iowa, I could see it. In the middle of New York, no way. I saw the Star of David immediately, but then I’m Jewish so clearly unqualified to judge.
I’m looking forward to your justification of Trump’s love of Saddam.
I’m not Jewish, am from the Midwest, and I don’t particularly know a whole lot of Jewish people, nor do I think I’m particularly “politically correct,” easy to offend, or any somesuch stuff, yet I saw a Star of David immediately as well.
Funny, Paul Ryan thought it was anti-Semitic and offensive.
Next step from here is:
“Those who are Jewish are not qualified to judge whether it is a star of david or not. This bias is very very unfair.”
It boggles my mind how some folks are able to tell Jewish people, “no, you’re wrong, that’s not about Jews at all - that’s not even a star of David!” with a straight face.
What, we’re only allowed to be offended now that there’s hard evidence of the picture’s provenence? Guess what? It was offensive the whole damned time, and next time maybe, just maybe, take someone from the affected group at their word. The picture was ALWAYS antisemitic and it would have been even if the evidence had never surfaced.
Funded fact I learned the other day. George Wallace (the former Governor of Alabama, not the comedian) actually invented this response to being caught dog whistling. It’s really super effective don’t you think? It’s neat that old school political techniques like this are still getting play.
For what it’s worth, based on his history, I would say George Wallace probably wasn’t racist either. Prior to him wanting to win elections he had a record of being pro integration! But he sure wanted the votes of racists. So he said it loud and proud “segregation today, segregation tomorrow and segregation forever!” Great politician Wallace was. Bet he tried to get Martin Luther King to pay for the wall he wanted to build between all the black and white neighborhoods.
In my case, all the first whiffs of complaints about the anti-semitism of the picture weren’t from Jews or Jewish organizations at all, they were from a motley mix of people in my Facebook feed, most of whom are happy to mock Trump for anything.
Secondly, the provenance of the picture doesn’t prove that it was anti-semitic. It proves that it was intended to be anti-semitic. That’s a pretty material difference, IMHO.
Not quite all of them.

Stupid auto correct. That should have said FUN FACT. No one sponsored my post. :smack:
Do me a solid and explain why that’s so important?
It makes it intentional, not inadvertent.
(posts shortened)
Do any of you even know what an actual Star of David looks like? It’s not as if every 6-pointed star qualifies as a SOD.
You see what you want to see. You may also see what other people tell you to see? hmmmmm?
Those who decided to be offended made their whine known and the 6 pointed star was changed to something else. Problem/misconception was identified AND was immediately corrected. Problem solved - unless it can be used as a political squawking point.
Woo Hoo - I’m going to The Other Waldo Pepper’s for free ice cream!!!
Do you know how to put text inside of it and to make it readable?
The answer for that is what the guys in the racist site arrived with.
Good luck getting the Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers to allow you to correct any errors you may have made.
Yeah, what Elvis said.
Trumps antics are a lot more understandable when you see them as examples of the dead cat strategy. Dead cat strategy is a diversionary tactic used in politics. Picture a dinner table, and the conversation is going somewhere you don’t want it to go. To divert everyone, do something strange and revolting, like throwing a dead cat in the middle of the dinner table. Guarantee that everyone will talk about the dead cat and why you would do such a crazy thing.
Repeat as necessary. Trump never runs out of dead cats.
Hahahaha. Seriously? Are you actually asking me to advise you on how you can create a racist Star of David meme of your very own? That ain’t gonna happen.
Here are some more. You may find two of them to be of special interest.
The ‘problem’ that was identified and corrected was the message that was sent. Which, apparently, was the message that was intended by its creator. If someone like Trump disagrees with that message, he should mention it when removing it; takes a moment, takes a single sentence, he could’ve ended the ‘squawking’ on Day One.
Why? Are you outing yourself as Donald Trump?

Not my problem if you want to let others know how whooshed you can get.
