The US Mint announced a new bronze “medal” today with Trump’s countenance and a quote from Trump: “THE FORGOTTEN MEN AND WOMEN OF OUR COUNTRY WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN AGAIN” embossed. I don’t know if the Mint director is a new appointee, but many of the recent releases have been things MAGA people hate-- US women quarters, etc.
Apparently this was said in 2016, but what specifically has he said he meant by this? Anything? Is this a ripoff of an FDR speech, “the forgotten man at the bottom of the economic pyramid”? Or was it to empower those racists oppressed by “the government”? I see nothing to believe it was the former.
Has there been any follow-up?

Well of course Trump forgot about them. If there is one thing you can count on with this guy is that you can’t believe anything he says, only what he does. Forgetting promises is what he does unless it benifits him.
I hear that he has plans to put his own head on the new plugged nickel.
One hopes, while it is actually being pressed. Not that I wish him great misfortune in an accident in a coin making facility, or anything like that.
Will they also not be blamed for nothing?
Sounds like a Criswell quote.
“Future events such as these will affect us in the future”
When did the U.S. Mint start pandering to assholes? I had to check twice to make sure it wasn’t one of those Franklin Mint rip-offs.
Eisenhower had that quote “Things have never been more like the way they are today in history” But then he had mastered the Army skill of saying idiotic things to placate those idiots above oneself. This, by contrast, is classic pseudo-profundity.
The linked page in the OP has similar medals for Obama’s first and second terms. There was no medal for Trump’s first term. Or for Biden. I wonder how they are selected.
