The Mysteries of Mass
The search for the Higgs boson has been going on for some time now. Frankly, I think most people don’t understand the gravity of the situation. If and when it’s found it will be a massive breakthrough in particle physics. Does it matter? Of course it does!
I first heard about this from reading The God Particle by Leon Lederman. It’s sad how Lederman had such hopes for the superconducting supercollider finding the boson, they must have had to lock the medicine cabinet and bolt the windows when that got cancelled.
