trying to ID a Star Trek con from the mid 70's

Hope this is the right place for this thread.

I attended a small Star Trek convention in New York City in either 1975 or 1976. the ONLY guest was James Doohan. I no longer have my con badge nor any other info about the con; I can’t even remember what hotel it was in.

I’m having difficulty in my google skills identifying this con. I keep finding other cons in the timeframe but they had more guests so they’re ruled out.

I have a suspicion it was MiniCon 5 which was in Nov '76 but I can’t find any guest confirmation.

Anyone out there who might have been in attendance, or have better search skills than mine?

I’ll give you a bump and mention the only Star Trek con I went to was in 1974, at what was then the Americana Hotel (now the Shereton-New York Hotel and Towers), on 7th Avenue between 52nd and 53rd Streets.

Can’t remember who spoke, though I think Nichelle Nichols was there, pushing her record album.

I was hoping that out there somewhere was a comprehensive database of Star Trek cast members cross-referenced with conventions at which they’ve appeared. A veritable geek treasure trove.

Here’s a site with some information about the James Doohan International Fan Club (James Doohan International Club Newsletter - Fanlore), which was active during that period. They would have covered any con appearances by Doohan, so the info you want might be on one of the linked pages.
