You have to give the guy credit for straight talk. He is saying upfront that he failed to accomplish the central promise of the campaign on which he initially came to power. You rarely see that from politicians.

Tsipras retains high personal support as 'the guy who fought for us against those nasty EU goons, but lost".
This election will get him re-elected, but his party split with those who opposed him replaced with supporters.

At this point, who cares? the Germans will never get paid back, and Greece will continue to decline. Until the whole country reforms, nothing will get any better.
