So you think it’s fine and dandy for men to enjoy stories of women being degraded and treated like objects? If Max is, as you say in your OP, actually encouraging date rape, I’d be a lot more worried about his influence on young men.
Like I said, this is the first I’ve heard of Max so I don’t know if your characterization of his work is correct, but if this guy is really so despicable then why question only his female fans? I’d assume that he has female fans for the same reasons he has male fans. It strikes me as pretty sexist that you think it’s okay for Max to have male fans but not okay for him to have female fans.
I do think men reading his stories is a big problem, actually. I am more interested, though, in why women would want to give him money for his stories and movie.
I agree that women should sleep with whomever they want. I linked to the blog entry of a woman who slept with him and wrote about it (it was the only one I could find). I’m not sure if she considers herself to be a fan – she called it “stunt sex.”
As for women knowing what they are getting into with him – what about the woman who was videotaped having sex with TM without her knowledge by TM’s friend who was hiding in a closet (per a plan by TM)? (See Tucker tries buttsex) Actually doing that is bad enough, but publishing a story about it makes it worse.
