One problem (for me) with the multi-link Tuckerposts. Even though the topics are extremely interesting to most of us, they don’t usually generate a lot of discussion and sink out of sight almost as quickly as one of my OPs.
There are times when I can’t make it to the boards every freaking day. If I miss a singleton post, no big thing. OTOH, if I miss a mass posting … 
You search for all threads started by Tuckerfan in MPSIMS for the past week or month. You paid to use the search function, so use it!

For what it’s worth, I tend to click on a Tuckerfan thread. It’s a guy thing maybe (all space, old cars, and other stuff we like).
Has anybody checked Tucker’s long term thread-starting average (rather just than in an hour or so)? Some folks start threads more than others. Tuckerfan would start more than I do, for example. Nonetheless, I don’t think he’s in any way excessive. And I like his posts.
Not worth a pitting, IMHO. Tucker’s a valued Doper. If he kept doing it, maybe, but strike this one off as a statistical anomaly.

Cripes. I have committed the cardinal doper sin of only reading the first page before replying. Though, I genuinely somehow thought it was only one page, and missed the 2 and 3 links. Glad it seems to be sorted, anyway.

Anyone who starts space threads is fine by me. I don’t make the time to chase down every single new development, but I’m glad someone does.
So does Tuckerfan do this on an hourly schedule? I mean I could understand if every couple hours there was a flood of TuckerNews, but if he was cruisin’ the net and found a string of interesting thing… Well no harm done.
Alright, who was fucking with the Palantir? I thought we had that damn thing locked up.
Anyway, I am a big fan of space stuff. I have a Hubble image calendar over my desk, and rotate in some shots on my Windows desktop. If it weren’t for Tuckerfan, we wouldn’t know that Tau Bootis is a very funky planet. (OK, so someone else came up with the phrase, but it was his thread.)

That’s true, but understand that when most of us post about a topic, its intended to foster some sort of discussion. The link-and-a-quote posts are more like a form of broadcasting. You might do some research before making the post, but from what we see, it looks like little effort went into the post.
You’re posting about a subject that some here mgiht see as popular. Like Miller said, though, if I made posts like this every few hours …
… you can bet that I would go down in flames, and that NOBODY would be here to defend me. (There’s only a couple other planners here, and I don’t know them off-board; I doubt they’d be rushing to my defense, either.) I’d be doing the exact same thing as you, but just becuse the subject matter is different, people would be begging the mods to ban me for post padding, cluttering IMHO, making general announcements, violating the “don’t be a jerk” commandment, and so on.
Now, if I followed up the URL and a quote with some meaningful commentary of my own – something that went beyond “cool” – it would be less likely that I’d get flamed. Some Dopers might be upset because I’m starting a lot of threads about an esoteric topic few here are interested in, but it’s unlikely I’d be pitted.

Just to be clear, while I do think your hypothetical planning threads would be ill-received, I don’t think that’s any reason for Tuckerfan to stop posting his clearly popular space threads. Double standard? Sure, but who really gives a shit?
Hang on. A guy who titles a thread “Planet Makes Star Its Bitch” is the topic of a three page pitting? That title alone exonerates Tuckerfan for all crimes up to multiple genocide. You the man now, dog.
