Tune the ATM plays when dispensing cash?

It’s been a while since I’ve used an IBM ATM (perhaps it was Interbold) but the really cool thing I remember about it was that it gave exact change. You could withdraw $47.94 or $31.41, or just a quarter if you wanted. They might still use them at IBM employee credit unions.

I, too, have always wondered about the “Charge!” noise that Bank of American ATMs play when you get cash. I wonder if everyone else who hears that is also using BoA ATMs, especially as they advertise they have the largest number of them of any US bank.

I too have heard the Woody Woodpecker laugh at ATMs.

There are various ATM’s around Kalamazoo, MI here that make that sound when printing the receipt. I have often wondered about that myself, but just figured it was something that some engineer thought would be cool to program into the receipt printer of the machine.

Charter One ATMs don’t make that sound, but otherwise all the feedback is provided in a BBC accent. I’ve heard other British accented ATMs elsewhere in the US.
