Firstly, I hope I am not the only one here who remembers the Woody Woodpecker theme song…
But has anybody else noticed that when you get money out of a bank ATM, there is this little noise that sounds exactly like the first three lines of the Woody Woodpecker theme song.
Really!
(OK…I’ll go back to looking for Aliens in area 51 now…)
World Easter - it’s a very faint and tinny melody that plays when your cash is being dispensed (or spewed, if the the machine is torqued too high). As opposed to the nasty TEEP!! TEEP!! TEEP!! meaning “Yo, Bub, don’t fergit yer card!”.
I’m with screech-owl. It sounds like the bugle call for “Charge” to me. I’m sure it’s the exact same noise we all here just before the money is dispensed, 'cos I can see how it would sound like the Woody Woodpecker theme song as well.
You’re not alone, DMark. As soon as I saw the title of this thread I knew exactly what the hell you were talking about.
I make it more interesting by wiggling my fingers at the slot when it hits the trill at the end of the sequence.
I also knew the second I saw the thread title. Someone should put it in GQ!
Absolutely the bugle OR the Woody Woodpecker theme if you want. Nobody in this thread is crazy (except the folks that don’t know what we’re talking about.) Question is: Was it intentional? I walk out of there every time thinking "nofreakin’way, but it’s too real to be a coincidence.
but why the hell would they bother… but… " etc…
Yes! Yes! Yes!!! Everyone at work thought I was crazy, but I know I’m not! I’m not! You can tell them! You hear the woodpecker too! You hear him! It’s not in my head! Yes! Yes!
::wanders off muttering::
Now that I know I am not crazy for posting the OP, I am going to try to see if anybody on the General Questions knows WHY this happens.
Please join in there - just in case people there think I am totally crazy…thank you!
