I’m having a ball with my new iPod (30g), but I could use some advice for the Belkin TuneBase I bought to go with it.
First, how do I find the best frequencies in my area (San Francisco Bay Area) to tune to? Is there a list somewhere?
Second, will cranking up the “volume” on the TuneBase improve the unit’s ability to override any static or weak signals on my chosen radio frequencies? It seems that the signal strenght is minimal at best, but I’ve left it at default so far. Otherwise it’s a very handy gadget.
I’m using it in my Honda Ridgeline, if that’s an issue. The radio uses a hidden antenna.
Thanks,
mangeorge
I tried TuneBase, but found it to be inadequate, so I replaced it with a “Newertechnology RoadTrip,” which plugs into the car’s power outlet. The radio is set at 107.7 (no alternatives). My only complaint is that there’s a faint high-pitched hum that I hear when the music isn’t loud enough to drown it out.
107.7, The Bone, is a pretty powerful station around here.
Can’t you set a different station using your computer?
I have an older iTrip, but it runs off the iPod’s battery. One of the charms of the TuneBase for me is that it charges the iPod. But that’s no good if it won’t play right.
Oh well!
