The TCM Cable Channel often shows a sequence of eleven film clips during the interval between features. The last clip is modeled on the painting Nighthawks by Edward T. Hopper and is from the movie Pennies from Heaven. The one immediately before it shows a policeman being served coffee in a diner and is from the end of The Wild One. I have the impression that the one before that, which shows a car beside a river at night, may be from The Sweet Smell of Success, although I can’t specifically identify it.
This is of no real importance, but seeing this sequence over and over has left me intrigued. Can any dopers identify the films from which the various clips were taken?
