Turok: Evolution on XBox

I thought the Turok on the N64 was quite good, and so was Turok2 on the N64. I didn’t like 3 at all, though, and in fact the whole Turok storyline (of all things to turn you off an FPS) made me not want to get “Evolution”, nevermind the bad reviews.

The commercials were cool, though.

Turock games fall prey to the un-fun factor. They accomplish this by making the main theme of the game jumping and flicking switches. You can miss one jump and go back a whole level. Jumping should be automatic and instinctual like in Zelda, not difficult and calculated. Plus, if the majority of the game is running across the board to flick a switch for a bridge and then running back to the door to the bridge and killing everything in between I get bored real quick.

Hitman 2. Now that is a mother fucking game. Go in guns blazing or silent and deadly. Take the mark out with a sniper rifle or a choke the life out of him with fibre wire. At least 4 or 5 way to beat every mission and NO JUMPING. Card keys are easy to find and the difficulty comes in tempering firepower with stealth.

Turock games blow after 5 minutes.

Hey, Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball is coming out in a couple of months. Does that qualify?

Or just get BMX XXX right now… I hear that’s really kid-friendly.
