I have an older TV with no RCA video lead (Out) on the back of the set.
Is there anyway I can solder a VIdeo lead out of the TV so I can have a lead out
The purpose is so I can watch one channel and record another Thanks :smack:
You can’t watch one channel while recording another unless your television has two tuners. And since you’ve said it’s an older set, I am guessing it has only one tuner.
But your VCR should have its own tuner, so an option might be to hook the VCR and the television up to separate antennae.
Sort of like method 1 on this page, except all of the connections are RF instead of video, and you wouldn’t have the line marked “video out”. The antenna feeds a splitter, and one output from the splitter goes to the VCR and the second goes to the television.
You don’t need all that stuff. You can just connect the incoming antenna/cable to the VCR’s IN terminal, and connect the VCR’s OUT terminal to the input on the TV. To record a program, set your VCR to that channel and press RECORD. To watch a second channel, hit the TV/VCR button on the VCR’s remote control–on most VCRs, a “VCR” indicator will turn on or off to indicate whether the VCR is tuning the ouput channel or not. You can now tune your TV to any other channel and watch it. This assumes that both your TV and your VCR are capable of receiving the channels you wish to view and/or record. If, for example, you need a cable box to watch or record certain channels, the setup will be different.
