TV show theme songs you know the words to

Could be Marxxx. I did do it from memory and it wasn’t one of my favorite shows. From here on out I shall mentally replace “boost” with “droop.”

I thank you for your support.

Chief, you’ve earned a standing ovation. I am in awe.
Would you also happen to know the third line from the Road Runner song? (Right after “Road Runner, if he catches you you’re through.”)

I know a few cartoon themes, and a few TV themes. My favorite, though, is “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show.” I don’t remember all of the words right off the top of my head, but I do remember it being hysterical.

This is the theme to Garry’s show
To Garry Shandling’s show
Garry called me up and asked if I
Would write his theme song…

Heh. I remembered Garry Shandling’s theme at work today and told myself I had to add it to this thread and here some people have already mentioned it.

This is the theme to Garry’s show.
The opening theme to Garry’s show.
This is the music that you hear
As you watch the credits.
We’re almost halfway finished
How do you like it so far?
How do you like the theme to Garry’s show?

This is the theme to Garry’s show.
The opening theme to Garry’s show.
Garry called me up and asked if I would write his theme song.
We’re almost to the part
Of where I start to whistle
And then we’ll watch It’s Garry Shandling’s Show.

Oh, and I can also “sing” the themes to Airwolf, The A-Team and MacGuyver.

Get a Life with Chris Elliott. I don’t know the song title but it starts out "Stand in the place that you live. . . " and I think it is by REM.

God I miss that show! I really do! A LOT!

  8. The Banana Splits

The first one is “Zoom”; I don’t recognize the third one either.

I think the line of the Road Runner song you’re looking for is “That coyote is really a crazy clown.”

Ah, finally I’m the expert on something here.

“Screw the physics, mathematics and entomology, Alex, and give me ‘cartoons’ for $500” – well, that and shoe polish, but I digress.

Point #1:
"Road runner, the coyote’s after you.
Road runner, if he catches you your through.

That Coyote is really a crazy clown.
He’ll try anything to slow you down.

etc.
etc."

Point #2:
Does no one remember Marine Boy?

"It’s Marine Boy, brave and free.
Fighting evil in the sea.

He is a boy, a very special boy,
Powered by propeller shoes, flying ships ahoy!
Whooshing through the water on his friendly dolphin’s back,
Racing to your rescue with his boomerang attack!

It’s a fact, he’ll foil your foe,
With one quick boomerang throw.
Loyal friend of the sea to the end, it our
Marine Boy!"

::Theme tune hummed under water::
Doc, Doc, Doc. ::head shaking::
Must have been a misspent childhood, huh?

Marine Boy? MARINE BOY? Thsi was a children’s show? Sounds like leatherneck pedophilia to me.

Hey, Markxxx:
Remember “Love Will Keep Us Together” by The Captain & Tennille (Darryl Dragon and his six-foot-tall wife Toni Tennille) from 1975?
At the end, instead of the nonsense syllables Toni and her two sisters, backup singers, sang: “Sedaka is back…”

Just remembered 2 more:

Speed Racer (Remembered it when I saw it mentioned above)

Astroboy

Sorta Kinda… they do say “The Siiiimpssooonnss” at the beginning of the show

“I guess it is possible for one person to make a difference, although most of the time they probably shouldn’t.”

The bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle
And the hills are green as green in Seattle
Like a beautiful child
Growing up, free and wild
Full of laughter, full of tears
Full of hopes and full of fears
Full of dreams to last the years in Seattle
In Seattle!

THAT’S a themesong!

slythe, I vaguely remember that Seattle song, but what the hell was that?

“Tick, tick, tick, tick, thick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick,…”

I also love the “60 Minutes” theme. Know all the words too!

mikan, that was HERE COME THE BRIDES. It was a prequel to Star Trek set at the founding of Seattle.

I thought the Road Runner song went something like

That coyote is really a crazy clown
When will he learn that he never can slow him down

That line goes by pretty fast, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something else entirely… but ChiefScott’s line doesn’t seem to fit the rhythm as I recall it.

mow him down, not slow him down.
According to “The TV Theme Song Sing-Along Song Book” - vol. 2 by John Javna, 1985.

Fabulous – a tv theme song sing-along book! And in multiple volumes, too! That’s what I want for Christmas.

And apparently what I need! I’ll defer to the song book, though. Much beer has passed 'tween these lips since the Road Runner and I have parted company.
