TV trivia challenge: name the show from the minor character

Star Trek. “Your agonizer, please!”

For some reason I want to say Bewitched. It’s probably wrong though.

Molly Turgis… I haven’t heard that name in decades!

She was a ghost on “Green Acres.” Supposedly, she had been an extremely ugly in life, and everyone ahd been cruel to her. So, whenever anybody mentioned her name, she’d do something comically cruel to that person. But Eva Gabor got the ghost to show herself, and gave her a makeover!

As for the Drgs of Humanity… I thought I was the only one who ever watched “It’s Your Move,” Jason Bateman’s old show. Bateman’s character created a non-existent heavy metal band called the Dregs of Humanity (really, they were just a bunch of science lab skeletons manipulated like puppets on stage). Somehow, they became a phenomenon, and he had to find a way to “kill” them before anybody found out they weren’t real.

Well done!

Curses! I knew Molly Turgis, too! Damn job!

Still waiting on “Dirk”–here’s some more:

Barney Heffner

Candy Kane

Johnny Venture

Anyone remember the Gooch?

I remember Jack Tripper answering a personal ad and going on a blind date as “Dirk” a swave, pipe-smoking guy. And his date ended up being Janet, I think (or one of the other girls), who had also lied in her personal ad.

I don’t think that’s who you’re talking about though.

That was the bully from Diff’rent Strokes, of course.

How about:
Sam Donovan
Catherine Parker
Nick Moore

If you mean realtor of the year Whit Prowdy, then Scrubs.

How about:

Larry Kubiac,
Sgt. Walter Harriman,
and
White Power Bill

Expert played by William H Macy who is brought in to improve the ratings on ‘Sports Night.’
How about:
Ugly John

Abraham Benrubi on Parker Lewis Can’t Lose

Art Donovan was the assistant city editor on “Lou Grant.”

Ugly John, unless there are two Uglies, would be the “gas-passer” from “MASH.”

Was White Power Bill a prison inmate on “Arrested Development?”

Nero

Gushie

Tommy Westphall

Gushie worked for project Quantum Leap
Tommy Westphall dreamed of St. Elsewhere
Howard Arnell
Pickles Sorrell
Willie Oleson

Here are some, probably not too hard

Alice Knight

John Hill

Richard Baker

Roy Hinkley

Though I should add the last two would be considered more than minor characters.

Roy Hinckley is the infamous Professor from that TV show about a bunch of people who were cast away on an island.

Yes,Roy Hinkley is the Professor.

Pickles was Buddy Sorrell’s wife on the original Dick Van Dyke Show.

Since nobody got my Art Donovan upthread yet, I’ll post one more clue: the character worked with Billie Newman, Joe Rossi, and Dennis Price.

Who else could it be? Good catch!
