tvshack.cc has been seized!

ICE and Homeland Security has shut down the oh so popular “media viewing” website which has been host to thousands of tv shows and movies. Heads up other websites and torrent sites, ICE coming your way!

Would you mind posing some kind of question for debate, MinkyBinks735? Otherwise this thread probably belongs in Cafe Society.

sorry. i didn’t know where i should put it. feel free to move it wherever it should be.

Was this “media viewing” website supplying the media legally?

I was not a source so I am not entirely sure. My guess is no. I decided to let everyone know incase they are a regular viewer. I wanted to prepare them for this devastation.

How nice of you. Will you also be preparing us for the “devastation” when supplies of drugs dry up, or when fencing operations get shut down?

no i won’t.

Are you concerned about the devastation sites like the one you mentioned cause?

Concerned, no. I was just disappointed and enjoyed going on it.

I see where we disagree, then.
I believe stealing is wrong.

So do i. I bet you have watched something online that you didn’t pay for. or listen to something you didn’t pay for.

Never deliberately.

I sure hope so!

i find that hard to believe…

Why? I’m in the same boat. The site was blatantly ripping off artists - I certainly won’t shed a tear for the users who were trying to skirt paying their way.

How does seizing a domain work? Can a U.S. agency take over a domain registered in another country? Do they need to approval of the country where the domain is registered? (In this case it is a territory of Australia)

Do they instead block access to that domain from within the U.S.? If that is the case, it sounds like the beginnings of a national firewall like China’s.

Did you register on this board just to post about an illegal website disappearing/being hacked?

Dammit, I was halfway through a movie on that site! (Ravenous, from the Want New Horror thread).

I realize this may be a shock to you, but some people actually are honest.

I’m really not sure why this was a matter for Homeland Security.
