It is definitely true that we can draw no reasonable inferences about whether or not she was intoxicated.

But i think that the odds are pretty good that she was drinking at least some alcohol. When people are described as drinking together, and the location specified is a bar, then i think that the odds are generally pretty good that alcohol is involved. Not always, but the balance of probabilities is in favor of it.

Anyway, my main takeaway from this thread is that the OP considers the Daily Mail a reliable news source, and the Dubai police a reliable assessor of consensual sex and of a woman’s responsibility in a sexual assault case. That, by itself, is all useful information for evaluating his contributions in future discussions.

The Daily Fail seeks only objective truth in all things.

Despite having studied countless documentaries on human pairing, many of which involve silicon-enhanced mammary glands on young, beautiful females of the species, real life experience does not confirm the suggestion that strangers readily agree to mating soon after their introduction by some random event without copious amounts of alcohol involved. This is especially true when a third partner is involved.

While it is theoretically possible that the woman was not actually intoxicated or even having consumed any alcohol at all, the odds of her being completely shitfaced are fairly high. Hence, stories which suggest she had imbibed alcohol cannot be readily dismissed.

So why haven’t you, then? Only an even more foolish person would have seen the rejections of the Fail as a source on the first page of replies to the OP and *not *gone on to provide another source w/ as broad or broader readership and accountability.

Given the treatment of women in the United Arab Emirates, do you have confidence in their legal system’s assessment of a case like this?
