IANAL, but by and large, there is no legal duty to report a crime. There are a few exceptions.Teachers/social workers might be required to report suspicion of child abuse, for example.
I’ll say!
I was reading it thinking "When did leaffan get married again? I didn’t know he had a son that young!
Then I noticed that Le ministre had posted and gave myself a :smack:
At any event, interesting denouement! Thanks for the update.
And how is your son doing these days, leaffan? Is he still interested in police work?
I didn’t see but may have missed it – do we know what, if anything, happened to the original vandals?
The two rules of witnessing a crime:
Get out of there.
Call the police.
And no cop in the country is going to confront you about not confronting a criminal. Especially one with an ax.
Where did the snitches get stitches crowd runnoft to?
An efficient use of space that lacks computer access.
I got pilloried in several directions on Facebook a couple weeks ago after posting that I called the police when I saw a locked van in the parking lot, with the engine running and a small child in it. No, I wasn’t going to stick around and witness the fireworks, and while I don’t have kids, I also know that there is NO excuse for that, I don’t care how many kids you have or how little sleep you’ve gotten. In fact, if you’re so sleepless, you don’t know you left a child in a running car, you shouldn’t be driving.
