At the Royal Gorge, Colorado:
Near the overlook was the Royal Rush Skycoaster. A sign warned interested parties that no one who was pregnant or who had high blood pressure or heart conditions was allowed on it. Basically it was a combo bungee/swing on a scaffold; the interested party paid his fee, got strapped into the harness, and was swung out over the canyon at 50 mph. We watched as one guy did this. I noticed that when the swing began losing it’s momentum the attendants brought out a noose. Were they going to put it around his head? Now that ought to be interesting. But the guy grabbed the noose in his hands and was released from the harness once the swing stopped.
The flier said it had recently been named “the scariest Skycoaster in the world.” I have no idea where the others are.
