Why are they called “Twoofers”?
Truther, pronounced like a child would say it.
It’s late. I’m tired. Amused, but tired.
I’d love to see Truther/Twoofer watered down to mean anyone spouting similar made up bullshit.
Here’s the thing, though, and why punking them was a bad idea. This birth certificate will now be used as proof that Obama was born in Kenya. It’s fake, and you know that and I know that, but the people making the argument that he’s Kenyan won’t care, and from now on, whenever you get into arguments with birthers, they’ll bring up the “Kenyan birth certificate” and that’s just one more thing to have to debunk.
That didn’t happen after Rathergate.
But the Rather forgeries weren’t designed to appeal to the same people. The Birthers are recruiting their disciplies, to a disproportionate degree, from people who are hard core fundamentalists, uneducated, mentally ill, or a combination of those three. In other words, people especially unlikely to use critical thinking. The Rather forgeries were aimed at the general populace, and failed epically.
$50 says the “Kenyan Birth Certificate” will be a popular bit of evidence for YEARS to come.
I was reading at Free Republic as this BC and the debunking came out. Birfers are made of comedy, yet they are a bit terrifying. Some of those people are unwell.

On this very board, the Rathergate documents were clung to by a few posters long after the obvious fact that they were forgeries was made plain. And even when they were reluctantly acknowledged as forgeries, the claim was made that they represented real facts, so the mere fact that they were forged should not be a barrier to accepting the truth of what they asserted.
Much the same idiocy will be applied to the Kenyan birth certificate.
