I’d make some 4X6 stretcher bars & stretch a canvas over it just like a small painting. It might need an extra support bar or two, but 4ft by 6ft is not all that large, and canvas that size can be bought at better art supply/frame suppliers.
A more economical method is to get a piece of 4X8 untempered masonite panel, cut it to size & gesso it.
