U.S. Liberals' war stance shows a fundamental disconnect

I don’t recall the “liberals” being particularly thrilled when “Slick Willie” lobbed a few missiles at Sudan, but as it wasn’t a continuing thing there wasn’t much point in protesting in the streets about it.

Shodan How do you manage to cram so much nonsense into so few words? It’s almost zen, really, a haiku of wing-nut Bushwah.

To start with: first anti-war demonstration I attended, LBJ was the culprit. A Democrat, if memory serves. Rightly so, he was the culprit. (I had worked for Goldwater, LBJ was the peace candidate!!!). But it took a Republican to take Viet Nam to depths that LBJ had only dreaded.

AS to Al Gore…yes, I suspect if President Elect Gore had the opportunity to assume the position that the majority of the voters…let me emphasize that for the cognitively dissonant…the majority of the voters…quite all right, no need to thank me…had wished for him, he would not, in fact, have his foreign policy dreamed up by a bunch of deranged Neo-Cons who discovered Ayn Rand in thier sophomore year and never got over it. Yes, things would be very different.

(Perhaps the next time GeeDubya stuts his stuff in his oh-so-cunning bombardier jacket and delivers his packaged tough-guy applause lines, he will take a moment to explain what happened to the last year of his military service. Did he wander off base for a beer and get lost? Do you know anybody else who stolled away from his enlistment and simply…forgot? Whilst he was valiantly protecting the skies above Amarillo from Viet Cong aircraft, Al Gore was ten thousand miles closer to The Shit than this overpriveleged frat boy ever dreamed of getting. But I digress…)

Perhaps, indeed, lobbing a few missiles at Saddam was not the wisest course of action. I’ll grant that. But I’m at a loss as to how to compare lying about a bit of noggin in the Oval Office compares, even to the meanest intelligence, with a campaign of non-existent reports, falsified and forged documents, bribery, secrecy and chicanery in order to con us into a war that will make an international pariah out of our beloved country for years to come. Our Fearless Misleader.

If it were constitutionally possible, Slick Willy could start campaigning tomorrow, and he would hand GeeDubya his ass come November. In the cramped and fearful depths of your heart, you know thats true.

The pope must be a stalinist as well.

But how many divisions does he have?
