Connor & Christina’s hubby are gone, so that leaves Daniel, with whom I could make out but don’t dream about. That’s it, unless there’s something valuable in it for me. Then: Archie, Matt, Calvin, and Marc/Suzuki (both equally girlie) in about that order. I like Ignacio like a dad, so that’s right out.

How “sickly” will Daniel’s new bride be when everyone realizes she owns a stake in Meade Publications? I think we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop with her; while the first shoe was a sensible Mary Jane, the second one will likely be a Jimmy Choo.
That’s a great theory and makes sense, although I wonder why she’d bother collapsing now that she’s married. I can see her making a miraculous recovery though. They play her off as a nice innocent plain Jane but there’s something about her that says “bitch.”

Connor was definitely the hottest guy on the show. Daniel’s too much of an idiot for me to find him attractive. Matt’s character annoys me, but what I find more annoying is Betty’s doormat behaviour with him. I do think getting Matt’s dad involved is a positive twist.
I thought Bernadette Peters crushing on Marc was pretty funny.
I hope next season we see more of Justin’s story (I’d like to see Cliff again too). I’m glad it looks like Claire is going to be more involved now. I want less (much less!) of the family giving Betty really awful advice. I’m sorry to see Christina go, but it did seem like there was nowhere else to go for the character. Who will Betty have as a female non-family confidant now?
The episode before this last one, they kidnapped Wili’s baby, then had it DNA tested and got proof it was theirs. Then they both moved back to Scotland so the baby could know its family.
For the first time since the show premiered, I’ve recorded the last three eps and just don’t find myself interested enough to watch. I’m tired of Betty doing stupid stuff - she’s better than that. I’m tired of all the storylines except Justin’s. They need a Justin spinoff.
There have been a couple of fairly serious moments between her and Amanda that actually worked well. Amanda’s a bipolar character in that she’ll be vapid and stupid in one episode and have some surprising depth and insight in another. (They made Marc stupid for a while but I’m glad now he’s back to bitchy and vicious but really good at what he does.)
I like Cal’s “Bunny” game with Daniel. It shows the demon he just invited in.
This season took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long for anything to happen. Most of the episodes were self contained. They should learn from and jump feet first into next season.
If I were on the production staff I’d try to change to a better timeslot and I’d mount a “this is what you need to know” video (or series of videos) on the website so that people who haven’t watched the show ever or in a year can know what’s going on. Also I’d put it on uglybetty dot com instead of abc dot com whatever whatever. I’d also do some kind of promotion- trip to NYC, walk on, lunch with the cast, sex with your choice of cast mates, etc., and have it on Oprah since if they’re going to boost ratings they’ve got to bring new viewers up to speed.
Incidentally, has anybody else noticed that the writers for the show seem to think that black women are either Vanessa Williams or big/fat/sassy? Octavia Spencer was hysterical on the show (because she’s a great actress/comedienne- nobody else could say “Do me like Mariah!” like she can), but since then they’ve had several characters on individual episodes who are the fat-sassy-black-woman stereotype: most recently the lesbian cop, before that the MODE security guard, a waitress a few eps back, and others who make Niecy Nash’s character on RENO 911 look like Condoleezza Rice. If more people watched the show there’d probably be complaints.
So about the finale and in no particular order…
Damn, Henry looked hotter than he used to, but then exes always do.
There have been hints all along that Matt is a self absorbed little brat who’s not concerned about other people, and then the revelation about his never completing anything last week sealed it, so his break up and defection was no surprise. I’d still love to see a fantasy episode with him, Henry, Gio, and Walter at some point.
We didn’t actually see Molly’s body. Think that’s important?
Who was in Willi’s bedroom? The implication was Connor of course but that may be too obvious. Other possibilities (assuming they’re not introducing a new character): Alexis, Nikki (Willi’s daughter), the Texas billionaire she briefly dated, or wildcard… Molly.
It took them all season but they *finally *had a scene with Marc and Justin. Those are crowd pleasers because you see a sweeter and softer side of Marc. I’ve always been surprised that they don’t give Justin more to do at Mode- have him be a special teen correspondent or whatever- because he clicks whenever he’s there. In the real world his serving as seeing eye kid for Willi at Fashion Week probably would have netted him some kind of gig (not out of gratitude but because Willi would smell profit in it).
I did a freeze frame on the adoption certificate at the end. It was undated but it also showed that Claire was petitioning to adopt a child as her heir, not give one up. Maybe it’s a red herring.
I hope the kid doesn’t turn out to be Matt. For one thing the casting couldn’t be worse as Daniel Eric Gold looks a whole lot more like Christine Baranski than he does either Judith Light or David Rasche.
I don’t like Henry. I used to like him when he and Betty were actually dating, because he was sweet/shy/nerdy then. But ever since Charlie crawled out of the woodwork with her bun baking, he’s gone so passive-aggressive he’s lost to me. From the whole “let’s pretend we have forever when we only have five weeks” way back when to the absolutely jaw-dropping entitlement of him showing up at Betty’s door begging her to marry him and move to Tulsa/Tucson (don’t remember if it’s OK or AZ) to his friending her on Myspace/Facebook (whichever it is) to his leaving clues to where he was hoping she’d follow him…it’s CREEPY!
That was pretty fun, although I called pretty much every twist and turn.
Molly’s ghost was a nice touch though.
That adoption paper Claire was holding is certainly interesting. It makes no sense though. Claire gets pregnant, goes to South Dakota to get rid of it, then while there adopts a boy child, no date, unknown father. Matt doesn’t feel right. Could Daniel or Alexis not be the real Daniel or Alexis? The kid is out there some where having been raised by someone else, we haven’t met yet?
The Marc & Justin scene was nice. Maybe once Justin is in high school he’ll be allowed to use the “g” word.
I’m over Henry but damn, Matt picked a bad time to show off his talking belly button. Maybe Gio should get another shot.

Oookay. We saw a body bag but no confirmation it was Molly. Unless they have an open casket funeral she’s going to be back.
So, did Matt get Betty’s promotion, or she still got her promotion but Matt is now in an even higher position?
I got the impression that Claire for pregnant by Matt’s Dad, stayed in South Dakota for her entire pregnancy, then gave up the kid for adoption. So that Daniel and Alex/is have a half sibling out there who I guess is older than them since it happened before Claire’s marriage.
