I just drank a few of these…great stuff! Along with THEAKSTON’s, one of the best British ales I’ve samples. And that label is cool…anybody know if the brewery has this on a t-shirt?
Anyway, is Wychwood wellknown in the UK? Do they make any other ales?
I don’t know of any other beers made by this company, but I do know Hobgoblin. I don’t know what your experience is with it, but I found it to be extremely strong. In fact, Hobgoblin once cost me a day’s wages.
Remiscence alert - in the very hot summer of 1989, my brother and I were busking on the streets of Oxford to raise money for our vacation in America. One day we arrived into the city in the morning, and decided, since things had been going so well so far, to give ourselves a treat: we were going to busk just until we had enough money for two pints of Hobgoblin each, at the Turf Tavern. Which is what we did - things were slow and it took us about an hour, but eventually we had enough. So we went and ordered our pints. The first pints went down well so we had a second. We had arrived at the pub at 11am, and neither of us had eaten breakfast. We then woozily went out to busk for the rest of the day, but first we took a little rest in the sunshine on the lawn by the Radcliffe Camera. We were asleep on the grass for five hours, whereupon we awoke with thumping heads, and had to force ourselves to busk enough for the bus fare home.
I don’t drink to much these days but this stuff can still tempt me, it’s an excellent beer. The other brews Wychwood make are very good too, my favourate being thier summer ale, Fiddlers Elbow. Yumm …
Also they do sell a range of t-shirst.
You sound pissed
