UK General Election May 2015 (Population Share Version)

The Catholic backwoods CSU was toxic in Protestant liberal Northern Germany.

That is why there was a split.

Wow, it’s like you were psychic!

Jesus Christ on a bike, the constituency where I grew up:

I’ve just heard that counts for Warwick & Leamington and Kenilworth & Southam won’t start until 11:30 at earliest.

That’s some proper laziness there. They’re like the anti-Sunderland.

I don’t believe him.

They needed 326 which they now have.

Well 323 is considered an “unofficial” majority, since neither the speaker nor sinn fein typically vote. But nice we’re not even in that grey area

Bloodbath! Miliband, Clegg and Farage have now all resigned.

I am still unclear as to what part of the political spectrum the Liberal Democrats actually filled.

Seems like it was “default protest vote”. A niche filled in this election by UKIP, at least in England.

Tories on 330 now.

They were the social democrat middle party between the tories and the socialist labour party.

Then they were the idealistic social democrat party as opposed to the dirty handed social democratic New Labour.

Then they got their hands dirty in government.

I’m getting a real sense of deja vu here.

Galloway is blaming his loss on “racists and Zionists”. You know, the kind of racists and Zionists who voted for a Muslim woman instead of the white Scottish man.

Go home, George - you’re drunk.

Well, the last time the Conservatives won outright (rather than just being re-elected) was back in '79 and it led directly to the invention of alternative comedy (Ben Elton et al). So maybe it’s not all bad…

2 Tone and other angry, political yet danceable music too.

Ah, Ben Elton… a middle-class-but-faux-working-class white male stand-up comedian and writer portraying himself as a bold campaigner for social justice while in actuality being an insufferable twat (albeit one with the capacity to be incredibly funny in the right context).

It’s a shame there’s no one filling that niche these days

331, final number for the Tories.

I predict an awkward dinner time this year during Christmas family get-together at the Miliband home.

I’m pretty sure it’s been that way every Christmas since Ed beat David for the party leadership.

I’m sure I WAS perfectly clear on that matter up until around five years ago. Then, over the next year or so, suddenly I became… less clear. Can’t think what could have caused that. Looks like about four and a half million people felt the same way last night. Wow! The LDs have been nuked from orbit.

(Check out the first graph on this page. I hadn’t realised it was THAT bad)

Er… I realize belatedly I should have said, “Chanukah.”
