UK gun laws.

I’m curious. In the UK, Sportsmen/hunters are allowed to have guns, but must keep them at a gun club. Right?

What do they do when they go hunting? How long can you keep your gun? Can you get it the night before? Can you keep it for a week?

Is it fast and loose? Or very well regulated with sign outs, conditions of use, date of return and such?

There are different levels of regulation for different kinds of gun - shotguns (and .22 rifles, I think) can be kept in the home, but they have to be locked up when not in use.
