Major Charles Ingram received an 18 month suspended sentence for his part in the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire case, and IMHO he was lucky not to get put inside.
He is now facing charges on two cases of alleged insurance fraud.
My question is, if he is found guilty of either of these two charges, will the suspended term be invoked? Does the fact that these charges relate to incidents which predate the Millionaire case have any bearing?
I think that his suspended sentence will not be revoked depending on the outcome of the Insurance fraud, as the charges (and the case itself) predate the WWTBAM case.
I disagree with TwistofFate; that is definitely not the right answer.
On the other hand, perhaps it is the right answer…
<cough>
Yes, TwistofFate is definitely right, I’m sure of it.
Hmm, I would imagine that since they predate the Millionaire case, the terms for that case will not be invoked, retrospective reviews of criminal history may not be invoked but it is possible that the judge will decide that there is a clear and continuing history of fraud and this information was not available at the time.
However, he might have recieved a suspended term on the insurance fraud alone if there had been no Millionaire case.
I would think it highly likely that if he is found guilty of insurance fraud, the sentencibg judge will take the Millionaire case into account and hand out a custodial sentence.
