Ultimate example of irony in TV/movies/video games/books? (Unboxed spoilers/all kind)

Consider it a contest.

My own entry is going to be from Lost.

Boone, like most everyone on the show, is a survivor of a plane crash. The plane plummets from 40,000 feet onto an island where the plan cartwheels through the jungle and comes to rest on the beach.

Like most of the survivors of the crash Boone has barely a scratch on him.

Toward the end of the first season Boone and Locke find another plane crashed on the island, this being a small drug smuggling plane that has caught in the jungle canopy. Because Locke has an injured leg, Boone climbs up to the crashed plane to see if its radio is still working.

His weight causes the plane to tip out of the canopy and crash to the jungle floor about forty feet below. Boone is mortally wounded and dies from his injuries shortly afterward.

So, there’s Boone’s irony. He survives a plane crash from 40,000 feet but is killed in a plane crash for 40 feet.
