I’d like to say Frodo, just ‘cause he’s cooler, but Harry Potter has the Deus Ex Machina workin’ for him. Of course, if Frodo somehow figured out how to use the One Ring for aught but invisibility, he’s wipe the floor with both Harry and the Deus.
In the movies, it’s seems like Harry and Frodo have fallen in love with each other. Until they get married and get bored with back door action, I think it is premature for them to fight.
um i dunno but bout stealth and such wouldnt Frodo be much quieter walking around in say a forest the human, Harry. Anyone know who has better hearing?
Frodo would win, i mean the guy has guts when he needs them, like would harry ever stand up to a ring wrath?
In any case he is a much more experianced in battle and would probly have more tricks up his sleave then Harry.
Frodo would be stronger right?
Well, Harry definitely couldn’t stand up to the ring’s wrath, but methinks you were talking about a ring wraith, in which case, I’d say, well, yeah, he could stand up, pretend that he was a badass like he thinks he is, and then be cut down like my grandfather’s grass. Frodo had enough sense to be, y’know, scared.
Heh. I spy a dirty fanfic at forty paces.
So, Frodo and Harry meet. Entranced by the power of the One Ring, Harry cries ‘Accio One Ring!’ It immediately zooms towards him, whacks him on the forehead and he’s out like a light. Frodo, meanwhile, picks up Harry’s wand, says ‘Hurray! I am still the prettiest!’ and goes off to play with Sam.
Harry’s magic is simply too versitile for Frodo, plus teh cloak would replicate the one ability Frodo does have access too.
Sure, Frodo could take more “Stupefy” hits than you’d think by looking at him. But Harry can keep dishing out the punisment. By the end of Book 5, he’s a rather advanced (for his age) combat wizard.
That said, if he got it, Harry would crack under the ring inside of two weeks.
In terms of a 15-year-old Harry, I give him two days.
Harry survived an attack from the most evil guy in the world when he was only a couple of weeks old.
It might take him a while to finish the Hobbit, but he’d get him eventually.
That had nothing to do with Harry’s own magic. It was his mother’s sacrifice that frustrated Voldy’s plot.
Only until a Nazgul or two, who know exactly where Frodo is, arrive and carry him off. Harry wins by default.
DD
True. But (major spoiler - book#5):
Isn’t Harry doomed to kill Voldemort or be killed by him? Doesn’t that make it impossible for Frodo to kill him? Am I grasping at straws?
I still think Harry would win though. All the determination in the world wouldn’t help Frodo against Harry’s magic.
I agree that Harry would win, but only because it’s a poor matchup.
Frodo isn’t supposed to be powerful. That’s the point of the Fellowship. Harry has tons of power so that Rowling’s young readers can live vicariously through him.
This particular versus scenario is just a bad one all around. They’re completely different characters.
What if harry became a ghost, and killed voldemort then?
Ok, hold on. KGS, they both turn invisible. Desert Dog, the Nazgul show up. But to balance that out, you’ve got to bring in the dementors to take Harry. they’re not fooled by invisibility cloaks. Frodo starts chanting in Elven, Harry starts yelling in Latin, then you’ve got real confusion. Before you know it, you’ll have black-cloaked freaks all over the place, trying to sniff and kiss each other. The short heroes run away and vow never to fight again. The consequences are too disturbing.
